Comhruith, Kelso Description

Welcome to Comhruith, a tranquil haven in the heart of town
The beauty of Comhruith lies in its diversity: not only does it offer a quiet hideaway in a stunning setting on the banks of the River Tweed; it is just a minute’s walk from the vibrant centre of Kelso with its excellent restaurants, bustling pubs, boutique shops, delis and coffee houses.
The house itself sits in a stunning B listed historic terrace. Spread over four floors with well proportioned rooms throughout the accommodation comprises a galley kitchen with Aga and American style fridge freezer, a large dining room seating up to twelve guests and a cosy sitting room from which to relax and watch the sun set over the river. Upstairs there are two double and three twin rooms serviced by two bathrooms and one shower room. The four front facing rooms boast river views and all bedrooms are fitted with flat screen televisions and freeview channels as well as luxury beds, duvets and Egyptian cotton bed linen for a perfect night’s sleep. Downstairs there is a spacious basement with gaming facilities, two futons which can sleep four extra guests if required, a shower room and plenty of space to store bikes / fishing equipment / shooting paraphernalia as well as sleeping facilities for any four legged friends. Surrounding the house the gardens are immaculately kept, the rear garden is large and secure with outside seating. The house also provides secure parking for up to five cars via a drive through garage and parking spaces within the garden walls.
The local area offers a wealth of activities for holiday makers of every taste. Arguably the finest salmon fishing in the country is available on the doorstep as the house overlooks the famous Junction beat of the Tweed. There is fishing to suit every taste (and pocket) in the local area on the Tweed, Teviot and Leader and if salmon fishing is out of reach you could still boast having fished the Junction as trout permits for this stretch are available locally for just £20 per annum! There are several shooting estates in the area and the house makes an ideal base for shooting parties. For those less inclined towards country sports there are plenty of other activities on offer in the area from golfing on one of the many local courses to a day out at the races, cycling on the numerous waymarked road routes or at the Innerleithen downhill mountain biking centre, walking in the Cheviots or Lammermuirs or even a spot of shopping in Edinburgh.
