Room was in very poor state of repair and I did not want to stay. I spoke to management about this and their response was go if you want but if you do the bride and groom will have to pay for your room. I said that was unfair and was blackmail and she said that's how it is you are here for the wedding and the grounds not the room. She explained the castle was on being refurbished and i said you cant ecpect people to pay the same as a refurbished room and she said yes that's how it is. The room was horrible. muck and rot on Windows. Bleach all over the carpet. Freezing with only a little wall heater and management rude and unhelpful. This was a room of 220 per night not cheap by any stretch of the imagination and I have been in a lot of hotels and this was the worst by far. About 10 other guests also looked at my room and all said they would refuse to stay but due to blackmail I was in an impossible position. All I can say is avoid!!!!!!!

We attended a wedding here. It's a great, unique setting that would work equally well come rain or shine. Definitely check it out if you're looking for a venue for a small to medium sized wedding.

What an AMAZING place. Simply the best hotel I've stayed in, and I've been lucky enough to stay in a lot, just because of the entire castle experience.

How many hotels have dungeons with torture equipment (not for use :-) in them? Proper four poster beds. Palatial gardens. Japanese carp you can feed in a pond with waterfalls. Medieval banqueting halls with armoury, weapons and flags.

The owner of the castle has been the most pleasant and accommodating hotelier I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with.

If you are looking to get married, this is the place, and you can see the proof of that through the reviews on Google and other websites.

A really lovely place that I look forward to visiting again soon.

I went to a Christmas Party here. The building and grounds were fabulous. The food was very good. Unfortunately the room I stayed in was freezing. The heater was useless. Although the catering staff were all efficient and friendly, the reception and maintenance staff didn't deal with the room temperature problem when I reported it. I ended up using the hairdryer to take a bit of the chill off!

Got locked in our room, for the staff to not be bothered, while we were supposed to be celebrating our friends wedding. Staff didnt care, got told it wasnt there fault, and were not sympathic to the fact in the slightest. Rude unhelpful management. My friends who got married there were given so many hurdles and another wedding was taking place when our friends had booked exclusivity. tired and run down rooms not worth the money in the slighest. No shower in the bathroom, and swarms of flies outside the windows. Terrible.

Our daughter and son-in-law got married here on Saturday. Everything was perfect! The castle and grounds are stunning; the rooms are immaculate and do not disappoint, but the staff are superb. They were very welcoming and made everyone feel at home, nothing was too much effort. The attention to detail went above and beyond and ensured the wedding weekend was a success. Truly faultless. The guests were sad to leave! Ha-ha.

Great experience staying at the castle. Very grand rooms kept up really well and very clean. The Castle and the grounds are beautiful and tranquil this really is a place for chilling out.

The Castle staff are very, very friendly and they really added to the good experience.

I came here for my brother's wedding. I will come again just for a weekend break. Beautiful.

When looking for a venue for our wedding we looked at all the top locations throughout Scotland and eventually settled on Comlongon Castle.
Without doubt the best decision we made. A superb location that is so real, unlike some venues that look and feel fake, this was the real thing.
The atmosphere was brilliant, the rooms with their four poster beds were excellent, and the food.......delicious!
It was without doubt the perfect day at Comlongon.
