This place is great! I've learnt more about how bikes work and what to pay attention to regarding maintenance since using Common Wheel. Neil found a beautiful old Dawes frame for me and it works wonderfully. Honest, no-nonsense, and friendly service from people who really care about bikes.

This place is wonderful, its helped me to evolve into a mature cyclist, from mountain bike to hybrid to fantastic tourer built just for me. The service is excellent, both personal and professional, an incredibly useful and inspiring project.

There should be more bike places like this. Community interest at heart. Friendly and knowledgeable bike guys ready to help. They have been plooking after my bikes for years. Not one problem in that time. Not one!

I love this place! Neil has forgotten more about bikes than most bike shop guys will ever know. There's zero chance of leaving this place with something that doesn't fit you or suit exactly what you need.

Got my first bike, a cool Dawes Galaxy from here roughly five years ago. I adored it. Was fitted specially for me and ran like a dream. It was a 1983 frame and had some lovely details. I always had cool people who know more about bikes than me telling me how nice it was.

Unfortunately I let it die on a railing because I couldn't find my key and by the time I got someone to cut the lock off the frame was really bent from someone trying to kick my D-lock off. Common wheel took the bike back and made me a new one using all the salvageable parts from the old one!

I never get pain in my back, knees or neck riding my new bike, I think because it has been expertly fitted.

I can't help but notice someone's recent review criticising the service here. It's a real shame and I think pretty unfair. The staff here won't do the smarmy salesman routine and just smile and nod in order to get you to buy something. They want to find the exact bike match for you in terms of the size of the frame and the type of bike you are after. They are not going to patronise anyone with telling them what they want to hear or selling them something just to shift stock.

I never felt like a was 'being sold' something here. More like I was getting special help to find unique special bike!

Always super accommodating with bringing my bike in for a service or repair.

And what a fantastic cause! Thanks Common Wheel.

A Man whom I assume is the owner has an entirely odd method of interacting with the public, condensing and rude, has mistaken the concept of needs analysis with interrogation and is further mistaken in believing that his knowledge of bicycles (whatever that may be) is as impressive and interesting to others as it is to himself, it is not. I visited with the intention of purchasing a vintage bike frame and was willing to pay a decent amount for the right item but within five minutes of having been interrogated, condescended to and subjected to a variety of sarcastic facial expressions one would expect from a child, I was already planning my exit strategy. At one point I actually asked, quite literally, if it would be possible for me to exchange money in return for goods or if there was some sort of special criteria or perhaps a test which needed to be passed first. If this little business is in some way tied in with charity or community then its quite sad that this individual is the face for that, very sad.
