Going to the gym, whether it be returning or starting out, can feel pretty daunting. I know, I've been there. As has most of the gym users you see.

There are some things you wake up to that just put a smile on your face.
I've posted about @thedoghouseinverness bar manager, Pawel, before but this is something else 😱.
I started with Pawel 8weeks ago and had him doing 2 sessions per week for 2-3 weeks at @forgegyminverness. Since then he has been running almost every day, challenging the bar staff to games of badminton, eating healthy, using his own home equipment and has taken up yoga..just to name a few.

David here has only been at @forgegyminverness for a couple of months and has seen major progress since he joined.
He's overcome health issues and continues to smash it out in the gym almost every day. He started out wearing 2XL t-shirts not too long ago and is nearly down to a Medium.
David set some goals with me when he first joined, that he wanted to lift 100kg in the deadlift by the end of the year. He's only went and exceeded that, lifting 105kg (well...more 110kg), whi...ch is amazing!
David is forging his own path, improving every day he turns up to the gym. I'm merely just nudging him in the right direction.

@thedoghouseinverness bar manager, Pawel, has only been training with me for 4 sessions and is already seeing massive changes.
I know 4 sessions doesn't sound like much, however its managed to kick start that fitness bug and now he's running regularly and making use of the nutrition advice he's been given.
His main goal was to "lose the belly" and you can see he's well on his way to achieving that. Not only that, but he's also gaining more definition in the shoulders and b...ack helping to improve his posture also.
Now that's the face of a happy man.

Mother and daughter - the dynamic duo - out for what they thought would be a brisk walk.....until I came along!
Age is just a number at the end of the day. Your body may change physically but it doesn't mean that's the end of the road and all you have to look forward to are Zimmer frames and cruising about the city centre in a pimped out scooter.
Take exercise in stages. When something gets easier, make it harder. Adapt to the environment and make use of what you have aroun...d you.
My mum just took her first step on her fitness journey and proved to herself that she can do more than she thought (with a little encouragement) and has really done herself proud.
The only way is up from here.

Ok so I just want to make this clear, I hate taking photos of myself. However I decided to bite the bullet and see just how much I've progressed.

So the charming photo on the left was me just a few months ago. I did work out but I didn't have much of a goal, so I was just floating about...like A ship without a sail.

I set myself a goal 2 months ago that I would lift 200kg by the time I turned 25. No fancy shoes, no straps, no belt. Just me and the bar. Since then it's been one injury after the next and set back after set back. However, the grit and determination every one of my clients has shown since I started personal training has been inspirational. So I decided not to be a lil bitch about it and got the job done. Thank you to everyone who has supported me and pushed me to be better. I hope I can do the same for you.

Yesterday's sprint session. First in a long time so feeling a little tender today to say the least. -
It always feels like a long road to recovery when you're injured. You feel like you're missing out on a lot and everything you've worked hard to gain is gone. -
But I've learned from past mistakes (people who know me well will remember) that you should ALWAYS take time to recover. It might feel like a lifetime but with smart training and a positive mindset, anything is achievable.

Another Thursday morning, another session at @forgegyminverness. Only this time it's the last session of my client, Craig's, 10week program.

You can clearly see he's come a long way. On the left was an early doors wk2/3 deadlift of 110kg. Over time he's gone from strength to strength managing to achieve a new PB this morning of 167kg for 1rep. Going full BEAST mode πŸ’ͺ

Not only that, but he surprised me with a thank you card and gift voucher at the end....after his brutal final circuit, which I really appreciate. Keep up the good work, Craig!

Some of the best moments as a personal trainer is seeing your clients progress and look back on how far they've come.
Craig is on week 9 of his 10 week program and this is the state of his belt. He has had to drop down 3/4 holes on his belt and he's now had to make a new hole (far left). At this rate he'll need new jeans πŸ˜‚πŸ’ͺ
Craig is a grafter and always puts in 110% with his sessions and has already seen some incredible results.
