All gud! but few bad things that they have to change
When u ring them by phone they dont pick up at all
Sometimes they are some things that u cant explain on emails tho has to be over the phone
Coz u need a exact answer and on emails not always u get the answer you want
Right now im on the phone been 15mins bell is going but no response

I was rather apprehensive after reading some of the reviews, but was very pleasantly surprised by the helpful and courteous attention I received from the Consular staff. Well-organised and efficient. I was in-and out in less-than the 20-minute appointment slot. The 2 ladies were very friendly and helpful, and the man in charge was very accommodating, and knowledgeable. (All this despite the Demonstration taking place outside the Embassy following the violent clashes in Catalonia, which clearly created tensions for the staff) My NIE was emailed through to me in Spain only 10-days after my appointment - well-ahead of the expected 2 to 3-weeks timescale. My wife is Spanish so I applied for visa to go to Spain and spend some time with her family. I had to go to the consulate but surprisingly my wife was not allowed to join me. I had gone through the reviews before and read about the extremely rude guy. But when I went inside a guy came and asked me some questions and helped me with my application form. He was very polite and nice. And when I applied my application, the girl in the counter was also polite and nice. Both are friendly. I was prepared for the worst but I found it completely opposite. I received my visa at my home address in 2 days. Very happy with the service.

I have applied several visas and the experience to apply spanish visa is the worst. The information online is messy and confused. It is very hard to find userful information about a student visa. First I call them they told me I could apply a tourist visa with purpose of study. When I was there, the officer told me 'no'. That is fine, but the man officer in Edinburgh is very disrespectful and mean, he treat the customer as enemy. Once you cannot understand him, he seems very angry and rude. He is like a commander to treat the new soldier. He told me the visa took up to four weeks and then the time is up, I call him he just told he said around four weeks and it could be four months. He did not listen to you and just interrupted you when you said something, when I wanted to say something he said I was very rude. he could return me the passport..... Such worse service, when you told him you have booked the flight and accomondation, he told me he did not care.... I told him he input the wrong passport no and sent emails to them, he just told me they may have changed it. He did not want to check it.... I feel very disappointed about the man officer in Edinburgh, I donot know how he could be an employed. It is such a shame for a country to be represented by such rude person.

Trying to obtain a visa for my niece who is UK born , with african parents with resident status , so we took all the docs on the checklist , all of them current and in date , down to the embassy , and the all of a sudden the rules changed , asking for the resident card to be stamped in the passport ,????

Bizarre , trying to put some money into the spanish economy and get no help or guidence , We are looking for a Holiday visa and get an orwealian response. Also would only let one parent in , even though they are not going and then asked why i wasnt there ???? confusing

I called on 17 April 2017 to ask for Visa requirement and process, the guy on the phone gave an email address to contact. For two days now I got no reply on how to apply for the Visa as the website information is not that cleared

I called again today, the same guy told me that the email address that I have is wrong? When he is the one who gave it to me. Then he said don't be rude and if i need his help i should be calm, and he started to be mad. I dont think this is good manners for someone who works in a consulate, he was very rude and upset for no reason then he hung up the phone on me. Very disappointed.

Never have I experience a more inefficient embassy. Firstly they never answer the phone for visa processing, they take forever to reply to an email and take about a month for a single entry tourist visa. Properly the most inefficient Schengen country I know.
