My husband and I visited yesterday on a Groupon voucher steak dinner with wine for 2,absolutely fabulous food and service. Definitely recommend

Disappointed! I visited Monday lunchtime with family.... after recommending Cooks to them. Food was great as always.... but service was very poor. Ĺeft feeling invisible and quite insignificant. We did get a lukewarm ( unprompted) apology for the delay after around 20 minutes wait and were advised chef was on alone so would be about another 10 minutes. This turned into nearer a further 25 mins..... with no further approach from waiting staff in the meantime and no further apologies. We were not even acknowledged when we left the restaurant. Very disappointed and not my usual experience. My family have vowed to never go back :(

Frequently visit here and have never been disappointed. Always a good variety of dishes on the menu and the breakfasts are amazing. Dog friendly outdoor seating area is a bonus too. The menu seems to change fairly frequently so worth checking back frequently to try new dishes.

Main came out before starter, main was put on a hot plate, couldn't eat the chicken main as it was to dry and crispy where on the plate. Forgot to bring coffees out along side the 1 desert that was ordered. Did get a discount for trouble but was still charged for the one meal that had 2 bites out of it. Very poor compared to normal standard. Don't think we will be back! 🙁

First time here, all staff very friendly & helpful. Didn't book in advance, but given a bootht no problem. Good atmosphere & the Sunday roast was delicious! Bx

Been going here for years and enjoy it enough to keep going back.
There are some excellent choices on the menu, but also some not so excellent ones, so choose wisely.

Had a burger and the haggis bon bons. Both were really good. Service was prompt and very friendly. Highly recommended for a stop.

Very poor service from the waiters, other diners got their food before us, even though we were sat down and ordered our food 15 minutes before them.

The food... Were do I begin??? The flat bread was tougher than cardboard, but was told that's how it's meant to be, the piri piri chicken was very dry and was like plastic. The fish was mediocre.

Not once did the waiters come over to ask how the food was or if we needed any top ups on our drinks.

Sack the staff and start again Cook's!!!

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone and I won't be going back after the experience I had

On Monday 13th June 16 at 7pm I visited this restaurant and had a brilliant meal in a lovely environment with an exceptionally friendly Staff, it is certainly a place I will visit again and also spread word around that it is a place to eat. Well done to everyone involved
