To protect people, all our properties are now closed. This includes gardens and grounds, as well as car parks at our countryside places too. We urge people to follow the latest advice and stay at home. We look forward to welcoming you again, once it’s safe for everyone. More at – https://www.nts.org.uk/stories/coronaviru s-emergency

Due to the Coronavirus emergency, we have taken the difficult decision to keep gated properties closed and cancel events from 20 March to protect our visitors, supporters and staff. We’re sorry for the disappointment caused – but we’re keeping our country parks, gardens and landscapes open where possible, so the nation can relax and rejuvenate. Find out more below:

Autumn colours are creeping into Corrieshalloch gorge, as the leaves of broadleaf trees turn with the change of the seasons.

Excellent Fungal Foray around the gorge woodland with local mycologist John Hedger. Lots to see and learn about different groups of fungi, their varied roles in the woodland ecosystem and which trees they are associated with. Thanks to our expert John and those attending despite the damp start to the day.

The current wet but warm weather is fantastic for the appearance of mushrooms and toadstools! If you want to find out more about these fascinating organisms and what they do in our environment, check out our Fungal Foray event on the 16th September at the Gorge with local expert John Hedger.

Another great day of work by the National Trust For Scotland Highland group of Conversation Volunteers on Saturday 14th April. Site Ranger, Katie, was joined by 6 volunteers and their leader, Ian to help begin removal of invasive non-native trees such as Western Hemlock and Sitka Spruce from Corrieshalloch Gorge National Nature Reserve. With the sun shining on our efforts and signs of spring all around us in the woodland above the gorge, we could not have asked for a nicer day. Thanks to David, Fiona, Helen, Ron, Sue Yvonne and Ian for their hard work which has made a great start to the season's work at the nature reserve.

We are delighted to announce that the Corrieshalloch footbridge is now OPEN to the public.
Other works completed by local contractors and National Trust for Scotland staff around the nature reserve include new safety signs, additional fencing and improvement to parts of the path network.
We have been grateful for the public's patience and understanding while the bridge and sections of the path network have had to be closed while work was completed and we look forward to welc...oming visitors from near and far to enjoy the Gorge and National Nature Reserve in the 2018 season.

Corrieshalloch Gorge Footbridge closure update: We are pleased to advise that our engineers plan to complete the final works and assessment on the gorge footbridge this week. Unfortunately, poor weather conditions have delayed these actions taking place until now. During the period from 20th until the 25th February Corrieshalloch Gorge NNR site and footpaths will be temporarily closed for the health and safety of contractors and visitors. We appreciate the patience of our visitors and supporters during this period. Thank you. Corrieshalloch Ranger and NTS Team #NTS #NTSHighlands

UPDATE ON PLANNED WORK AT CORRIESHALLOCH GORGE: Due to unsuitable weather conditions for completing roped access work to the footbridge, there has been a delay in planned engineering work at the gorge. This means that the footbridge remains closed until a weather window arrives to undertake the final works and assessment. We appreciate the continued patience and understanding of our visitors and ask that people please check this page and other media for updates.
On a more p...ositive note, we have been able to commence work on fencing on Lady Fowler's Fern walk path this week. This path has been closed while the work is completed but should be reopened early next week. Thank you Katie - Ranger
