Went for dinner yesterday evening. Absolutely amazing experience with great tasting food.

As I'm originating from the same region then I was very excited to try our traditional food here in Scotland. Borsch served in the bread is gorgeous.

Portions were huge and lovely staff were happy to box half we couldn't eat so it was enough for a lunch next day as well lol

Only thing is that I would've loved a nice selection of our wine, моностырская изба, охотничье и другие.

This is an absolute gem of a restaurant just off Argyll St and handy for the Trontgate arts centre. The lunch menu is super value (best in town to my mind) whilst the a la carte is excellent for an evening treat or gift. Has dishes from all across the former USSR from Lithuania right out to Kazakhstan, so there is a huge variety of dishes to try. Unique and delicate starters such as caviar blinis and shuba to hearty favs like stroganov, plov and goulash. They also have a few other things like calamaris and chicken wings and the Kid's menu is great too. Do try the Lithuanian champagne (still largely what they serve at the Marinsky or Bolshoi) and their homemade kvass if it is there which a nice alternative to coke etc. my mother loves the stuff although technically it is ever so slightly alchoholic and she doesn't drink.....apparently. Dessert of the day has always been good or try the honeycake and Russian style tea (berries and mint infused) if you are just in for tea or coffee. Just wish it was nearer my flat.

This is a really good restaurant. The food was amazing, the staff were very friendly, it wasn’t expensive, & the homemade vodka tasted great 😄

Probably one of the best restaurants we have ever eaten in, exceptional food and service.... held a 21st birthday for us for 24 people and the food was amazing, now friends are going regularly, if you haven't eaten here yet you are missing out....

Popped in today. The chicken meatloaves were divine. I chased it down with one of the homemade vodkas. I saw jalapeno vodka on the menu, so naturally I had to try it. All I can say is TRY IT! Staff are great too.

Nice and excellent food. Lovely presentation and great staff.

Love this gem of a place.. have managed to go twice in a month after we found this place..have gone for the fantastic priced lunch menu..under £20 for two starters, two mains and two drinks..staff are friendly and wonderful and place is lovely and clean and left very full and happy..will definitely be back

I came yesterday with my boyfriend for dinner. It was first time and we absolutely loved it!!! Food is amazing and staff too. I really like that place and I wlll definitely come back !

Had a leisurely lunch here today. Food, service, ambience, prices all excellent and deserving of the five star rating.

Had a Groupon voucher for here. 2 courses with vodka shots. The meal was lovely, food very tasty, good portions, simple but very nice indeed. The restaurant itself is very nice, staff friendly. I found the whole experience to be very good value for money and would definitely go back again.

First time trying here last night and what a find! Every course was delicious and so well cooked, in particular the octopus as a starter. I followed that with the Russian dumplings and the honey cake and they were all melt in the mouth gorgeous! And best thing yet basically all their cocktails were under a fiver!!! Great value for money, friendly attentive staff and cosy atmosphere :-)

Excellent service, beautiful delicious food, fantastic prices, family friendly, what more could you ask for, amazing hidden gem, my favourite and best restaurant in town, worth the travel.

Booked with a Groupon voucher and the limited voucher menu still gave a good choice of starters and mains, food was excellent, staff were friendly and polite. There was a longish wait for the mains but that wasn't a problem as it was good to know they were being freshly made... Will definitely go back and sample the full menu sometime soon.
