WE DID IT!! As many of you know, we have been on a mission to get our children Megan (6) and Harry (4) up their first Munro this year...and today they made us so proud as we reached the summit of Beinn Ghlas at 1103m/3618ft! (In the photo you can see Ben Lawers behind us which is Scotlandās tenth highest peak)
Itās too exciting that this incredible bakehouse has opened literally round the corner from us. Ok, ok itās not our usual healthy recommendations (!) but everything in moderation. This is food for your soul...! We tried their Cherry Scone today and we enjoyed every last crumb. Next time you visit us at our Barrington Drive clinic in the West End, you can treat yourself here afterwards š (or bring us some goodies š)

Osteoarthritis of the Hip? Hip osteoarthritis (OA) is among the most common degenerative joint diseases, and it is associated with chronic pain, reduced mobility, and stiffness in the region surrounding the hip joint. A systematic review of data from twelve studies found that a combination of manual therapy and patient education is effective at improving pain, hip range of motion, and physical function in patients with hip OA. Michael & Joanna commonly use such treatments when managing patients with osteoarthritis of the hip. https://www.cramosteopaths.co.uk/conā¦/a rthritis-spondylosis/ Complementary Therapies in Medicine, February 2019
Long Work Hours Linked to Musculoskeletal Back Pain. Using data from the Fourth Korean Working Conditions Survey involving nearly 25,000 workers, researchers report that working over 40 hours a week is associated with up to a 40% increased risk for musculoskeletal pain in men and up to a 66% elevated risk for musculoskeletal pain in women. Nurses Often Suffer Fatigue and Musculoskeletal Pain. Questionnaires completed by nurses from nearly 40 hospitals revealed that 71.3% of participants experienced at least one work-related musculoskeletal disorder in the past year, with back pain being the most common complaint. Furthermore, the researchers identified a correlation between work-related musculoskeletal risk and years of experience, nurse-to-patient ratios, and occupational fatigue. The findings suggest that preventive strategies are needed to ensure a healthier occupational environment for nurses. Older Adults Are More Likely to Have Abnormal Cervical Curve. According to a study that examined the cervical curve of 118 adults, those over the age of 55 were about five times more likely to have a loss of cervical curve. Cervical kyphosis (reversal of normal curve) has been linked to an increased risk for neck pain, headaches, dizziness, cervical disc degeneration, and referred symptoms to the upper extremities. Global Spine Journal, October 2018
