Always a lovely place to visit. Lots of grear events and special events held through the year. Good cafe and gift shop. Beautiful grounds to explore.

A great place to take a look around. Beautiful gardens. Lots of history and good facilities.

Great place for walks with some beautiful views and lots of wildlife (look out for herons near the river and pond). The castle has a very nice walled garden, you can get in for free after the castle closes for the day.

A wonderful castle with estate gardens, owned by the same Burnett family for over 500 years. Now operated by Scotland. Original documents, paintings, needle-points abound. Complete freedom to photograph! Very beautiful, pay attention to the ceilings, & quality of wall hangings & furnishings.
Then wander through the estates gardens! Absolutely fantastic. Such variety, such formality of layout. Even a Victorian era glass house. Custom built using Balmoral Castle's styling in its inspiration! Don't miss this one!

Whilst many people enjoy the splendid castle and outstanding gardens, only a relative few venture out of sight of the castle. This is a shame as the grounds and woods have many wonderful walks marked out through them. Suitable for families (many of the walks can be done with a buggy) and popular with naturalists, photographers and dog walkers alike, the woods are an excellent place to spend a few hours enjoying the peace and tranquillity of this unique space.
