Crc Learning Resource Centre Description

Borrowing

Students can borrow up to 10 items (15 for staff). These items can be renewed 3 times without the items being present (5 times for staff) and are usually loaned for a period of 7 or 28 days.
If you do not return your items on time, there is a fine of 10p per day, per item.

Renewing your books is easy:

• Do it online via the library catalogue and enter your ID number in the ‘Reader Code’ box and log in.
• Telephone us on 01223 418216 and quote your ID number.
• Call into the LRC in person and have your ID badge ready for renewals to take place.

What if the book I need is on loan?

Our library catalogue displays whether a book is on loan or not. If it is on loan, log-in to your library account, and use the ‘Reserve’ button to reserve the first available copy. We will then contact you explaining how and where to collect your book.

Study Space

With over 180 study spaces, and 75 PCs available in the main LRC (plus 20 computers and 8 study spaces in the J block LRC and 11 computers and 28 study spaces in the D block LRC), you should be able to find somewhere to catch up with your assignments.
We have 8 rooms available for individual study and 2 study pods for group work. Please book individual study rooms, study pods and sign into the small quiet area at: The Help Desk on the first floor by the Quiet Study area and study room 6.

Access and HE students

We have a large drop in study room with computers and group work areas dedicated to Access and HE students located in B040 on the ground floor of the main LRC. There are also two smaller bookable study rooms upstairs with priority for Access and HE students and a smaller dedicated study area upstairs.

Wireless access

Wifi is available throughout the college.

Photocopying

The photocopier is located on the ground floor in the main LRC. Photocopier cards can be purchased at the main LRC desk.

Workshops

We offer a programme of workshops in the LRC to help you make the most of the resources available to support you with your course work: referencing, plagiarism, research, e-books, online resources, etc.
