We had a great week long family break here in April for the first time. We stayed in the beautiful 3 bed white cottage which was next to the stables & golf course. Loads of activities for all ages, would highly recommend the quads for adults & pony ride for little ones. The child’s pool was good too, with lots of toys for them to play with in the water. Food at restaurants was lovely and service was great.

Looking forward to going back as a yearly break.

User

Massive massive thank you to 2 members of your staff who have just helped us out of a very dangerous situation in the weather. We were playing with the band at the Cowie wedding tonight, after not wanting to let our bride and groom down due to the weather - and on our way home we got stuck at the top of the hill on Miller Street which had turned to solid ice. They both travelled out to us with the pick- up, at 2am, to help us with spades, shovels and salt. Crieff Hydro you have 2 absolute gentleman there working for you and we cannot thank them enough. Buy those guys a pint!!

Just back from another amazing stay at Crieff Hydro. We stayed for 1 night. Everything from start to finish was amazing. The staff are so helpful and friendly. This is the 4th time we have been and we love it. The Victorian Spa is amazing value at £10. I have seen comments with people moaning that they have to pay for an adults only pool however although this is an adults only pool (with sauna, steam room and jaccuzi plus you get fruit, biscuits, juice and tea or coffee ) it is an experience a bit of luxury. Not many hotels offer adults only pools anyway. The other pool, that anyone can use, is very good too. It also has jaccuzi, sauna and steam room.

The restaurants are all great and staff so helpful.

Staff are keen and eager to sort any problems so if you have any issues ask them do not leave it until end of stay.

We had freedom dining which is amazing value.

The cinema is great too and free which is even better.

Will defo be back.

Just back from a fabulous 4 night stay for my mum’s 50th! 11 of us including 3 x children and a dog all stayed in the Netherleigh Lodge which is just amazing from top to bottom! Plenty of space for us all & the added bonus of the upstairs snug for the kids to chill/play in was superb!

We were self catering however when we did eat in the hotel it was lovely - well priced & tasty. The Victorian Spa & Spa Treatments were a particular highlight & so relaxing.

Even with the snow there was still many activities for us all to take part in but understandably there were some that we were hoping to do but couldn’t. Our toddlers also loved the Big Country & soft play areas.

All in all a very enjoyable stay! Would highly recommend to families looking for a fun few days away!

User

Incredible. From start to finish. The place is just insanely good. The location is superb. The staff couldnt do enough and the facilities spot on. Cannot wait to be back and wholeheartedly recommend

What a treat!

User

I visited Crieff Hydro for my hen weekend. We stayed in lodge 818 and it was stunning. The lodge was like a home from home and was big enough for the 6 of us. We went quad biking on the Saturday which was fantastic and did laser tag in the afternoon. We had lunch and dinner in the brasserie and Piccolos and both meals were delicious. Overall an amazing experience and we are already talking about going back!!

User

Had a 2 night stay with Its a knockout and woodland combat booked on the Sat with 17 people for my hen weekend. We all had such a great weekend with lots of laughs. Big thank you to Michael (its a knockout) and Duncan (woodland combat) who made the activities such a great laugh. Would highly recommend.

User

Don't want to give too good a review as everyone will want yo come and it will be fully booked for us to come again. There are 11 of us 5 of whom are children. Our cottage cannot be praised enough. The toiletries smell wonderful and the towels are do soft. Everything we need is provided and the children love it. Next time I will try and remember to book spa treatments in advance as the week is fully booked.

User

This was my first time staying at Crieff Hydro and I was looking forward to it after hearing good reviews from friends and colleagues.

Our first meal was in the Meikle restaurant and was nice. Even the kids found something they liked, which is quite an achievement for a 7 and 3 year old these days. The staff were very helpful and friendly and our stay was enjoyable.

On the Saturday the fire alarm went off and we made our way to the reception area to find out more. The evacuation process was very poorly executed, the housekeeping person on our floor wasn't sure if it was the fire alarm or not and when we reached the reception there didn't seem to be anyone taking charge or letting the guests know what was going on.

One employee wearing a hi-vis vest and clutching a clipboard watched as guests made their way to reception. There was no-one telling guests to get out the building or make their way to a recognised assembly point. Once the alarm had stopped, reception staff went round telling guests they could return to the public areas etc. When we returned to our room, the same housekeeping employee was there. I am guessing he didn't see the need to leave the building whent he alarm sounded. The evac coordination was very poor and needs a lot of work.

Overall our stay was enjoyable, but I'd hate to think what would happen if there was a major evacuation required at Crieff Hydro.

User

Hotel is really lovely but when checking in, the staff member wasn’t exactly helpful! She told us our room number and that was it. No other info! Had to ask how to get to our room, where to park, where to go for breakfast and dinner etc. It by no means ruined our stay but failing to understand what’s difficult about giving your guests some basic information. Restaurant and spa staff were superbly friendly and helpful though so top marks to them!

User

Not quite what I expected There were 23 of us for a 60th anniversary family party paid a lot of money Food was so so and for some reason even after paying over £2000 I ended up with the smallest room with no fridge and too much furniture

Really busy place won’t be back

User

Nice location.. not much to do in the evenings and the absence of staff in the bar area during the early afternoon was noticeable.. food was very good however we were not offered a dessert after main course.. think staff were keen to get finished .. checkout very early at 10.00hrs.. some areas of the hotel look very tired and dated and some were surprisingly untidy with mess on carpets.. staff were all very pleasant

User

I have given it a 3 star rating as food and staff were great. I visited for an overnight stay with my 3 year old daughter. My 1st visit and was obviously allocated the worst room in the hotel. The carpet was stained and loose, floor boards creaked and the bathroom and furniture were disgusting. No welcome pack in room. I have had an apology and offered an upgrade and 10% off my next stay which I’m not happy with. I feel I should have been refunded the cost of the room. Not sure I’ll be taking them up on their offer.....I wish I could add photos here.

User

Not too impressed, pre booked manicure , was told it was not! Pre booked gin afternoon tea was told we had not! Pre booked upgrade room, didn’t happen. This was all booked when we booked dinner , which was booked with bottle of prosecco. Prosecco in room with 2 glasses and not chilled(3 adults). Phoned housekeeping and asked for another glass and bucket of ice was told too busy and when I phoned back reception was was tol £3.50 for bucket of ice and glass. I told them not to bother, half an hour later it arrived at our room. After dinner we went to Meikle bar, dirty tables and glasses everywhere.

User

My wife and I and our two children stayed here on the 7th of July. It was a last minute decision as we were meeting our friends who had a cabin. We had never been before and for the price we expected great things. Unfortunately it seems Crieff hydro trades off its name and not service.

Our room was £250 per night and for that hefty price we received a room which was dirty, had no air conditioning (in heat over 30c), one window that opened 4 inches, many cracked floor tiles, wall paper hanging off the walls and stained carpets.

The breakfast was included but terrible! Cheap ham, cheese and melon consisted the continental breakfast. The cooked breakfast was ruined by the use of powered eggs! Yes powered eggs for scrambled eggs in a £250 a night 4 star hotel!

Upon checking out I was asked if I enjoyed my stay, I answered honestly and a manager came to talk with me. I expressed my disappointment and disbelief. I was told they were sorry and that was it, no discount or attempt at re-engaging me as a future customer.

In hindsight I should have refused to pay the full price.

I will not be back.

User

Didn't have a good experience during our visit. Girl at check in didn't provide us with any information about our stay, we were staying with dogs and our room was smelly and not the cleanest, we could only get a table for dinner booked for 4.30pm and when I asked the waitress if I could move my babies highchair she replied "aslong as he doesn't annoy other customers" I found her very rude, oh and there were egg shells in my scrambled egg in the morning also I didn't find the hotel "baby fiendly" in the slightest. Lifts were really small and lots of stairs to try and get the pram up and down. Overall not an enjoyable weekend.

Place is an absolute joke!!!! Me and my partner just left here . We came for a nights break we went on the quads which was great the staff there were amazing then we went to the Victorian spa which u had to pay which u ate not told about it was alright but the Jacuzzi wasn't on only down side to it after we left the spa around the back of 8 went and got ready to go for a late tea as our day had been busy with the quad biking so thought well go to spa then go for tea only to find out once we were ready all the kitchens were closed and they could not do anything baring in mind we had paid £50 for our food and drinks which we got nothing and we were NOT informed that food stops at 9pm go we drove in to creiff for everything to be closed except Indians which I don't eat or say can't eat... so we tried room service to be told there ls only chicken curry which again I can't eat or salmon sandwiches which yet again I don't like fish so 3am I finally got toast which was stone cold by the time we got to sleep it was 5am broken sleep all night the bed was 2 single beds pushed together very uncomfortable woken up at 11am missed breakfast the lot then to find out the £50 we paid on check in was non refundable then to find out they charged £66 for horse riding my partner had cancelled yesterday at 6pm !!! The manager didn't give a shit and the staff on reception were arrogant but where nice on check in so a waste of £500!! Money grabbers that's all it comes down to the place it'self with all activities is good but 100 percent avoid this place wish I had read reviews before coming here !!!! I will not be back money grabbers!
