A massive thank you to everyone who submitted your well thought names to us in the competition to name the new work boat which will be cruising the Crinan.
The winning name is 'John Rennie', in remembrance of the civil engineer who first designed many UK canals, including our beautiful Crinan Canal. Well done to those who brought this name to the table!

Not to float our own boat (ahem...) but we've just been named one of Britain's best waterway walks by readers of The Guardian! 🚶‍♀️

And the local events just keep coming, Transiting the Crinan Canal this summer, why not take full advantage of your 4 day licence and berth up on the canal a night or two to join in the local festival fun.

The Crinan Canal supports the local Ardrishaigs Annual Gala Day organised each year by the wonderfully spirited friendly locals of the village. Hey Folks, it's getting close to that time of year again and the excitement is building. 27th July to the 3rd of August so who is joining this years WHYW event? If you need some inspiration to get your creative juices flowing, some of our previous boats have went by the names Conway (Ice Breaker), and The Linnet.
... The winner will be announced next week - good luck!
P.s. Even a HINT of names such as Boaty McBoatFace will not be entertained for our grand vessel - give us something good people! 😄
