Hi All, i would just like to say that we had a very successful tea afternoon on Saturday We cleared £375 on the stalls and teas. There were donations of £211. The annual raffle has raised £1999 and the cute peedie rabbit took in £120. The rabbit was called Julie which nobody managed to guess so we just drew the name out of a hat for her. I need to thank Foubister and Bain for sponsoring out raffle tickets, all the ladies from the Friends of Crossroads who did all the work and to everyone who donated prizes and goods for the stalls. Last but not least to everyone who has bought tickets etc and suppported us. It was all a brilliant effort. Also our Christmas Cards didnt turn up in time but they are here in the office now on sale at £3 for 10.

Hi All
We had a very successful day at the County Show. We were selling our raffle tickets and had a bottle stall. We raised £687.18, which is much more than usual. Many thanks to all who donated bottles for the stall and all the helpers on the day.

Hi Everyone. Just to let you know that we will be at the County Show again this year with our stand. We will be selling raffle tickets for our annual raffle with a 1st prize of a Lynnfield Lux dinner for 2 with an overnight stay and breakfast included. 2nd prize is a £50 Voucher for Starlings and 3rd Prize is a £25 voucher for Grooves. We will be having a bottle stall too, if anyone wants to donate a bottle we would be very grateful, or any small prize for the raffle. And last but certainly not least we have an adorable peedie bunny that needs a new home, all you have to do is guess her name.

Hi Everybody, it was Carers Week last week and we had an informaiton stand in Tesco's foyer. We also had a collection bucket and we received donations of £454, this is an amazing amount of money, so I would like to thank the general public for their genorosity. The money goes towards providing free of charge respite care to Carers in Orkney. I'd also like to add the Tesco staff were very helpful so thanks to them too.

Hi All
As part of Dementia Awareness Week, Crossroads Orkney is going to have an open day in the Marjory Corrigall room of the Stromness Library. We will be there from 10am to 4pm on thursday the 7th of June. We want to raise awareness of the services we provide and other services available to people affected by Dementia and their Cares. BUT... more importantly we want to show you the resources we have available. Back in 2013 we were given over £8,000 to manager on behalf of the Stromness people who held a 'Mock Wedding'. We have built up a stock of items that we can give out on loan to people who return them when they no longer need them. You can drop in at anytime through the day for a chat and a cup of tea. Look forward to seeing you all. Olivia Tait - Manager

I hope you all noticed the bit in our newsletter offering unpaid Carers the chance to have a health check. All too often Carers neglect their own health while looking after someone else. This is your chance to do something about that. Give us a ring on 870500 to book an appointment.

We've just had a lovely time at the Carers Support Group today celebrating St Valentines Day. Denize (assistant manager) took in a red rose each of the staff and the group attendees. Paul (administrator) as you can see by the photo got right into the Valentines spirit. We had a few romantic stories of how people met their spouses. The group runs every month on the second wednesday of the month from 12 - 2pm

TIME TO LIVE FUND
We have a small fund of money which has been granted by Shared Care Scotland's short breaks fund to enable unpaid Carers who are doing a significant amount of caring an opportunity to have a short break for their choice. The fund is open to Carers of adults and to Young Carers. Some of the breaks people choose are trips away, gym memberships, massage, cinema tickets, etc. Awards this year are up to £250, if you would like to apply please ring us on 870500 or email olivia@crossroadsorkney.co.uk.

Hi Everybody, just to let you all know that we made £100 at our Christmas Tea afternoon in December. It was a terrible day weather wise but some old faithfuls (and some new ones) managed to turn up to support us. All the Friends of Crossroads and board memeber did a brilliant job of orgainising it. We made just over £2000 on our annual raffle. Thanks to all involved. Olivia
