We were on the way home from Cornwall and our car got a puncture , lucky just near the crown inn bridport
We were cold and tired.
We had lovely coffee and got chocolate 🍫
The staff were very helpful and gave us a warm welcome
Thank you
From Julie , Phil and Dan
We went out for the last night of our holiday and loved our food. The homemade burgers were great and so was the Steak and Ale pie. The staff were really friendly and were happy to accommodate a 2-year old wandering around looking at the fish. We highly recommend the pub and food.
We stopped on our way home to Emsworth, lovely friendly staff and very comfortable place to be . My partner had the cottage pie and I had fish in batter. Both were beautifully cooked but we just couldn’t finish it all .
Very reasonable price for what you had . We will definitely go back next time we visit Devon 😃
We come here every year for a meal while we are on holiday the food is excellent the staff are great and very helpful the best home made steak and ale pie ever
We are visitors from Australia - Perth actually. Went to the Crown after a long day out sightseeing. We placed our order and had our food within 15 minutes. Hot and beautifully cooked and presented. Very friendly and helpful staff. Will recommend this place to anybody who visits Bridport and surrounding areas or passing through. Next time im in the Uk. I will return.
This evening we stopped here for dinner. We had never been here before so thought we would try something different. I ordered the madras, which could have used a little more flavour, HOWEVER!!!!!!! Everything else was on point, superb food, fantastic beer and great service! Highly recommended.
Nice dog friendly pup food good and Sky.
Just back from visiting West Dorset. This is our favourite Bridport pub. Excellent Palmers ales always coming up tip top! And the food is proper home cooked pub grub. You won't leave hungry that's for sure. Highly recommend!
Had to wait a while as it was busy but well worth it. Had the crown burger it was huge. Staff are lovely very friendly even though they were working flat out. Dog friendly too. Great escape from the rain.
Had huge fantastic gammon, chips, salad and onion rings and the staff were lovely and food didn't take too long will definitely be going there before we go back to Wales
Had a roast dinner after hearing how good they were. I was not disappointed at all. Definitely the best roast I have had in years. Extremely good value for money and a host of draught ales to choose from to wash it down. Definitely recommend this pub to anybody for food choices and value and for a great selection of ales oh and by the way it is dog FRIENDLY too.
Top marks the Crown Inn at Westbay .
Definitely a pub.
Had a great night on sat night I was looking for a local pub to watch the Chelsea game. Lots of TVs in the pub spoilt for choice , a great pint , staff helpful and free chicken and chips whilst the games on I will be back
Called into the Crown Inn after a very long day, having left Bournemouth at 830 am and driving to Lands end and back again, taking in Looe Polperro and St Michaels mount. Had a white bait starter between us which was massive and perfect. On to steak and ale pie which was delicious and again a very generous portion. The Mrs had chilli con carne which was ok but not hot enough for her. We found the staff very friendly and helpful. We visit this part of Dorset regularly so will definitely be calling in again. Lovely beer too.
Best steak & ale pie for miles!!
Awesome service had a lovely Lasagne that was just a bit burnt and tough around the edge, still ate it. Had a full refund waitress noticed I had left some and could see for herself why. Awesome service has not stopped me from returning when in Bridport next 💕
Apologies to the lady behind the bar for our friend who was a little loud saying the food was pricy! (Our friend has no filter and often makes us cringe!) we all ordered burger and chips for lunch. When it arrived there was a lovely fresh, interesting salad, good proper burger, nice roll and plenty of nice, proper chips and it was well worth every penny. The staff were lovely and brought us plenty of sauces, and the food was great. Thank You for your hospitality and the guest ales. A nice stop off on the way to our girls weekend away. Many thanks.
First choice was steak & ale pie,
Which was no longer available.
I had scampi ,salad & chips
It was ok!
Shame it came with half a plate of peas tho.
Otherhalf had the chicken pie, which he said was nice
Nice for a one off visit
Called in for a Sunday lunch after our journey from Sussex .
Having read the reviews was quite suprised at how bad some were .Ok the pub is on the old fashioned side but clean, cosy & a really nicely kept aquarium.
My husband had the 'butcher's faggots' which he said were lovely & I had the roast - beef with all the trimmings & more .Both were very tasty & good portions .
Seems like a locals pub & very pleasant .Nice Palmers beer & cider. Will return on our next visit.
Although we booked a party for ten we ended up sitting separately with our backs to each other. Had a long wait for food and although mine wasn't that bad some people couldn't eat theirs. We won't be going back
