Flat, spacious site. Only 2 washing up sinks but toilet and shower block modern and clean, lots of hot water. Friendly, helpful staff. Watch out for midges, large citronella candles did the trick most of the time.

This campground is within walking distance from the Cruise Loch Ness office. Also there is a fish and chips shop around the corner. The campground is big with lots of tent spaces. The toilets and showers were nice and clean. The shower was free but you had to pay to use a hair dryer. We didn't have much interaction with the staff but the guy who checked us in was nice. There are "No Dogs" signs everywhere!!

Lovely camp ground. The turf was in beautiful condition. The amenities block was modern and clean. Amazing selection of people from all over the world on the site. Well set up for all kids of touring/camping/caravans/walkers/cyclists .
Also it was a nice short walk into Fort Augustus and to the canal lock.

Nicely laid out site which is very conveniently located to the centre of Fort Augustus. The site takes touring caravans, motor vans and tents, it also has a hostel for backpackers. Staff are friendly but also appear to constantly watch residents for any perceived infraction of the rules. There is a toilet and shower block on site but we have not used it so I cannot comment on its quality. The chemical toilet disposal point is primitive being basically a hole in the ground, we tend to make sure the toilet is emptied before visiting the site to avoid using this. The site is not entirely dog friendly, dogs were banned last year but this was rescinded. Dogs are now permitted on leads and must not be exercised on site. There is no dog walk or exercise area on site and no bins are provide in the event of an accident. It is pleasant to walk your dog along the canal but we haven't found a safe location to exercise your dog off the lead in Fort Augustus.

Having read "no need to book campsite, we will find a space for you" and "dogs must be kept on lead at all times" on their website I made a 3 hour car journey to this campsite, to ask if we can camp and was told no problem apart from 'that' (pointing to my dog who was still sat in the car). I was asked what I was going to do with 'it' when I was camping and told them I'd have her in the tent with me as per the last two campsites we have just visited over the last week - then given a list of very restricting rules saying my dog could only be walked off site. I decided not to stay as we were treated negatively right from the beginning and it seems that dogs are not welcome here at all. I had wasted a day travelling here and ended up cutting my trip short and heading home as I was having issues finding another local site with my limited phone reception. Dog owners should think twice about booking here - I just wish we had chosen elsewhere before setting off.

One of the ugliest campsites of the whole entire world. It's a very dirty and unpleasent place, especially the toilet building is like the shitehouse of a concentration camp. The gras is always so wet that you cannot put your tent anywhere. The hostel building is better, but it's strictly forbidden to go inside when you're a camper. I recommend not to pay when you have no other choice than to stay at this f**kin' place

Very nice campsite. If you are planning to stay more than 4 nights you will have to move your tent to allow the field to be mowed. Within short walking distance to Fort Augustus and Loch Ness. Lovely part of the world. There are wild raspberries growing on the site. Delicious.

Excellent site although no food served at bar anymore. Great food served in town.

An immaculate and extremly well run site. We were in a touring caravan in August staying for 3 nights. The site caters for overnight camping and has all the facilities for hikers especially the heated shower block and lots of hot water. Beautiful views, very quiet considering all the coming and going of holiday makers. If you want a site near to Loch Ness, it's a 5min walk into Fort Augustus and we would highly recommend this one.
