Thank you for a nice evening... the best Whisky-Bar in Stirling... we come as strangers and go as Friends... I'll be back again

User

Such a great wee pub. Lots of malt whiskey to try if u like whiskey lol. The owner was amazingly friendly and let my hubby try a sample of beer before buying. Would recommend it so much.

User

Small bar with heaps of character. Mandy is amazing and will talk you through whiskey and make you feel well at home.

User

One of the most enjoyable places we visited when in Stirling. Small, cozy and friendly. Mandy was wonderful and helped me learn that Scotch can be very enjoyable. She introduced me to Glen Garioch and it's become my "preferred" drink. Highly recommended!

User

Nipped through to Stirling, with my better half, for a few drinks. After a couple elsewhere we decided to pop in to the Curly Coo for a G&T on our way back to the railway station. The owner is really welcoming, and was the same with everyone who came in. We ended up staying for another, and would have stayed longer if we could. Looking forward to our next visit.

User

Nice wee place, highly recommended for a wee whisky and/or ale

User

Mandy and the Curly Coo will be a favorite memory of my visit to Stirling. Warm and welcoming with a fantastic whisky selection and the knowledge to go with it.

Casual atmosphere and a great option for a solo female traveler.

User

Mandy and her team are always very welcoming and helpful at the coo! Great place and fantastic atmosphere. They always have good recommendations for when you want to try something different!

User

Lovely, cozy place with great atmosphere and impressive choice of whiskies :)

User

Lovely place, nice and cozy and an endless varaity of good drinks . Mandy is the best!!!

User

Loved it! A sweet little gem with a nice owner who liked to fit you with the whisky/ies you might like. A mix of locals and visitors, young and old. One of my favorite things I did in Scotland.

User

Love it. My kind of pub. Juke box and a (pretty much) horseshoe bar.

User

It is the best place for a quality dram! It's gony take me a while to get through them all!

User

If you like a dram and a great place to drink it....

User

If you are looking for a spot to sip some fine whiskey in without having to deal with a bunch of "hooligans" this is your bar. The prices are extremely reasonable and the owner knows her stuff! If you are looking for a great place while staying in this town I would highly reccomend this bar.

User

I live in Stirling and this is one of the best bars the city has to offer. It has a great atmosphere and Mandy makes everyone feel welcome. It has a fantastic selection of whisky and gin and Mandy will talk you through every one of them if you wanted. I'm really looking forward to attending on of the 'Coo's Whisky tasting nights'!

User

I don't frequent this pub nearly as much as I would like! It's always a welcoming and friendly atmosphere and the drinks selection is great.

User

User

Great spot.

User

Great pub with super range of whisky, shame some of them were out of our price range.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. See you on my next visit .

User

Great local pub - I would say that as a local! The main feature is the diverse selection of whiskies, but the local beer on tap is a great draw too (well, that and the blether among other local folk and tourists). Sometimes, there's an old school pub ceilidh when the local Gaelic singers are in.

User

Great bar, good music, easy vibe and great whisky. The owner is lovely and welcoming. Next time I'll let her choose our whiskys...out with my son and his girl...

User

Great bar with a fantastic range of whiskies. Great place to chill with friends and make new one.

Definitely worth the 5*

User

Fantastic, traditional pub located a stone's throw from the station. Excellent selection of whiskies and a great range of gins too. And a very warm welcome.

User

Best bar in Stirling for what I enjoy: great atmosphere (no tv's, no game machines), great host and a fantastic array of beverages especially whisky and gin.

User

Before I get started on the great selection of whisky to sample I must start with the landlady of this bar. She has to be the friendliest and most welcoming landlady I've ever encountered. Being her bar, Mandy greets and welcomes each new customer with 'welcome to the coo'. She has an outstanding knowledge of all the whiskies on offer and clearly understands the patrons palate based on their preference for the previous whisky they've sampled and their thoughts on that. I tried a great variety of whiskies I'd never experienced before (many now near top of my favourites) and I put complete trust in her to suggest ones I may enjoy. I was never disappointed.

But don't hesitate going though if you're not the biggest whisky fan as there are a great selection of craft beers including Schiehallion (or Shenanigans as we affectionately renamed it when we misheard its name) from the nearby brewery in Alva, Tennents, Guinness, craft gins, other spirits, wine etc. The bar is in a very convenient location as well. Easy walk from station and all central hotels. For locals its the old Albion bar.

We live in Australia and we were visiting family. We were excited to hear about this new whisky bar addition to Stirling (should of been one ages ago) and only got the chance to go four times during our week long visit to Stirling and wish we could have gone more, but we will be back again when we visit family again. I encourage tourists visiting to head for a wee dram (over 130 to choose from) when in Stirling - you'll get to try plenty of whiskies you wouldn't have the chance to sample. Also a great place for locals to unwind and relax with friends as well - the crowd on the Saturday night we were there were certainly enjoying themselves.

We look forward to our return banter with both the landlady and other customers next time and trying some of the other 120 drams I didn't touch this time! Hope this bar is a great success.

User

As for me, a beautiful, quiet place to stay and enjoy a few drams of fine whisky.

Loved the interior, wide range of whiskies and friendly service.

User

User

A true hidden gem, mandy made my friends and I feel very welcome. Would recommend this to anyone who appreciates a good pint, hospitality and atmosphere

User

What a huge disappointment. Took some friends there tonight having enjoyed a couple of great nights there recently. Not so tonight. Really frosty reception from staff and generally weird stuffy vibe tonight . Shame as they have a good selection of whisky. Maybe Mandy is a bit too picky about the type of customer she wants. Ach well - plenty other places in Stirling.

User

I've been going to the Curly Coo for the last few years and it's a great wee cosy bar and before now I've been able to over look the often somewhat questionable behaviour and attitude of Mandy the owner. However after a recent visit, I feel I need to offer some constructive advice and ask her to rethink how she treats some of her customers, customers like myself who don't need to be spoken to rudely or be made to feel like you're getting told off for doing anything that she deems unacceptable (she has very odd ideas of what is and isn't acceptable). I urge her to brush up on her customer service skills and maybe visit other establishments where they treat their customers in the manner that I and most decent people expect. Looking at other reviews on here and trip advisor, I am not the only one who thinks this, maybe it's time she listened. I'll seriously need to consider whether I'll go back in the future.

Fantastic, traditional pub located a stone's throw from the station. Excellent selection of whiskies and a great range of gins too. And a very warm welcome.

Best bar in Stirling for what I enjoy: great atmosphere (no tv's, no game machines), great host and a fantastic array of beverages especially whisky and gin.

As for me, a beautiful, quiet place to stay and enjoy a few drams of fine whisky.

Loved the interior, wide range of whiskies and friendly service.

A true hidden gem, mandy made my friends and I feel very welcome. Would recommend this to anyone who appreciates a good pint, hospitality and atmosphere
