Edinburgh, converted stables:
Pre-wire completed for whats going to be something pretty special. This building sits in the grounds of the clients property. We’ve been asked to install a premium cinema room. There will be three rows of cinema seats on a step-up raised floor. pre-wired for a Dolby Atmos 7.4.4 speaker system and 4K projector with 140” static screen. We’ve also cabled for two TV wallmounts and speakers in the games room and gym. In the main house we will insta...ll a 4K embedded matrix. From here we have a dual direct burial cat6e cable run going to the stables. This will link both building together and let us access the Sky Q system, CCTV and internet.

Will post pictures of the final install. This is just to show how we manage cables directly into the comms location.

What you hope you don’t need us to do:
Just can’t believe the poor installs that we’re getting called in to redo. This one was shocking, we stripped everything out and started again. I’ve attached some pictures of the wiring we uncovered that was taped together, this included the master phone line. No excuses.

Newton Mearns System Upgrade:
Sometimes the time comes when you have to strip things out and start again. The system installed in this house years ago had seen its day so we started by removing everything. We re-wired the house completely and installed all new cabling. At the heart of the system is HD Anywheres MHub 4k Pro. Upgraded 4k projector and in-wall speakers for cinema room. Replacement of existing in-ceiling speakers for Monitor Audio upgrades and Three TV wallmoun...ts. Everything data related is hard wired.

When one £10k TV is not enough:
This is part two of a long term project. Last year we installed a centralised AV distribution system. The house has had two extensions since then and we returned to expand on the original install.

Sony AF9 65” OLed with premium surround sound:
Sometimes you have to go backwards to go forwards. Given the pictures at the start of this install you’d be forgiven for thinking it would be impossible to bring it all together in the end. B&W cm8 floor-standing speakers, Monitor audio Apex centre with two c380idc Monitor Audios In ceiling. Equipment cabinet located upstairs in loft with MHub 4k pro and Yamaha Aventage 3040 AV receiver.

We’ve been busy...
This month has been non stop. Here are some before and after install pictures of either poor workmanship put right, relocation of existing system from one room to another, upgrades or just more boring install pictures.

Upside down house: Pre-wire phase:
This is our latest project, and it’s big. The photos don’t do the size and scale of this property justice. The bedrooms are located on the ground floor. On the middle floor there is one open planned kitchen, dining and living area with an incredible full height balcony that is behind a 2 story glass partition. Amazing. ... On a top floor we will be I installing a cinema room in the roof space. We will wire the property as always with a cabling system that will distribute all media from a central comms location.

UPDATE: Newton Mearns Project:
Almost complete. We have been waiting 5 weeks for Virgin broadband to install their cabling. Finally the router online and the system is close to complete.

In-ceiling speakers:
This is typical of the type of installation we provide. In-ceiling speakers that are linked to all on-line music steaming services and deliver room filling, evenly distributed audio.

South Side extension:
Outdoor speakers for next summer, 4K TV linked to Sky HD in main living room with Sonos Playbar, in-ceiling speakers in dining room. Once decorating and landscaping is complete we will update the pictures.

West end refurbishment:
Just at the initial pre-wire stage on this project. 4K video distribution, smart TV wiring, Wi-Fi repeaters all back to one central location. Out of sight equipment placement with TVs wall-mount and lossless distribution of all media.

Whole house infrastructure upgrade, private residence Glasgow: UPDATE:
Out with the old, in with the new. We’ve been contracted to completely re-wire this property and remove all existing cabling when compete. As always we will find a main cable route that we can access in the future with zero disruption. Still at a very early stage and this project will take some time but we will update information as we go.
... Day 1: Most of the day was used up just getting the correct plan together, finding cable routes and consulting with the client. In a property this old and big you have to familiarise yourself with the layout early on and get a feel for what’s best before committing to the pre-wire.
Day 2: The start of what will be a huge effort to pull cables into the general areas throughout the property. Just short of 2 kilometres of cable went into the house in one 8 hour shift.
Day 3/4/5:
10 camera embedded CCTV system installed including doorbell camera. Cables terminated in comms cupboard. Complete removal of old CCTV, satellite and aerial hardware. All existing cabling removed from the outside of the property. New reception platform installed on roof. Wireless access points and 4K matrix installed.
This property is about to go through some major upgrades now that we’ve wired it completely. Was a really rewarding job to remove the cable mess after completion.

Clay oven restaurant, Shawlands:
Small job for us but great system. We installed 7 Sonos Play 1 speakers on Flexson wall brackets. The owner has complete control over the level of each speaker and access to all on-line music streaming services.

Sheffield Cinema Room update:
Last week we went to Sheffield to start wiring for the cinema room posted on our page a few weeks ago. As soon as we arrived we realised that the layout of the room was completely wrong and had to be changed. Working with the main contractor and architect onsite we formulated a plan quickly, put amended drawings together and then pre-wired the room before heading home. All in a days work.

South side extension:
Just finished the pre-wire on this ultra modern extension. We’ve wired for:
... 8 Integrated speakers throughout the newly created open planned Kitchen/Family area. Integrated basement cinema room with wall mounted TV, concealed cinema screen and in-wall/ceiling speakers. CCTV In both old and new zones of the house. 4K HDTV Distribution in several room. All incoming utilities located to comms cupboard.
