We stayed last night for the first time and could not have been made more welcome. The staff were so friendly and helpful, service was second to none. Our meal was fantastic and our room was lovely. We will definitely be back, looking forward to it already.

User

This hotel is amazing and the staff superb they were all very welcoming and friendly. The hotel is spotless and cannot fault it at all. We were given a free upgrade on our room and a free glass of champagne when we went for dinner as it was the start of our honeymoon. Will definitely be returning at some point.

User

Such a beautiful hotel. Classy in every area. Upgrade for our anniversary, note in the room from guest relations. Attentive, knowledgable staff. Can’t fault it, highly recommend . Thank you

User

Stayed here for my birthday with my fiancé! When we entered our room there was a lovely card wishing me a happy birthday and all the staff were friendly and helpful and went above and beyond to make my day special! The food and cocktails were absolutely amazing. When checking out we got offered another room so ended up staying two nights! One of the best hotels we have been too!

User

So this our first visit to Dakota even though we live 2 mins away. Always felt it was a wee bit elite and not accessible for a drink. Well we couldn't have been more wrong! We have had the most stunning dinner followed by cocktails at the bar. The staff were amazing especially Ryan at the bar who kept us in the most delicious pink panther cocktails. Thankyou so much for a great night and we will definitely be back very soon x

Recently had a one night stay here whilst in the area on business ...... this hotel oozes quality right from the moment you walk through the almost ‘mysterious’ curtained entrance. Quality of decor & finishings throughout is exceptional - reception, rooms, restaurant ..... everywhere. Staff were all helpful & pleasant. Breakfast is cold buffet (cereals, fruits, meats & cheeses, etc) followed with made to order hot options & was served exactly as requested. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend - I will stay here again.

User

Outstanding food and service. Friendly, professional staff who really care about what they are doing. Some of the best seafood I have ever eaten.

User

Lovely night at the Dakota for my 30th. We were given an upgrade to a suite and there was a Happy Birthday note on the desk mirror. Lovely but a mystery as we didn't tell the Dakota it was for a birthday.

Food and wine were lovely. Fish curry was beautiful and my husband said the chocolate fondant was the best he's ever had.

We were looked after by the lovely Brigitte who couldn't have been nicer or done more for us.

I cut my lip on a glass at breakfast and the hotel were very quick to offer recompense and apologies. Just one of those things could happen anywhere but we will definitely be back.

User

Love Dakota hotel. Great place to go to feel spoiled. Very stylish and welcoming but very comfortable too. Rooms are immaculate! Hats off to the housekeeping team for a job well done. Restaurant is amazing and lounge area is so cosy and inviting. Executive lounge and bar area is a treat for that special touch. Staff are brilliant, could not fault any of them. This was our 4th time at Dakota and never disappoints.

User

Just back from the Dakota after a lovely stay. Hotel lovely and dinner was superb. Credit to one of your waiters this morning (young lad about 17/18 years of age with dark hair) who was very chatty and attentive serving us breakie. He even produced a wee lemsip for me as I was loaded with the cold - now that’s customer service! He was a stick out from the rest. Would have been four stars but he bumped it up to five

User

Had a lovely stay on our first ever visit to Dakota. Our room was of five star quality. Very clean and presentable with hospitality WiFi & sky tv in the room. Quality shower room with cleanliness to a very high standard throughout. Dakota offers its own meals but is also located near to Frankie & Bennys and is within a nice 20 minute walk into South Queensferry itself which has various types bars & restaurants along the walk, offering a fabulous views of the Forths 3 bridges.

User

Had a fantastic 10 day stay at Dakota. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. The place is absolutely immaculate. Didn't get to really experience the bar and grille, but it was always filled with people who seemed to be enjoying it. A high end hotel without the high end price. The Tesco superstore next door is perfectly situated for convenience. Bus routes all around. Highly recommend staying at Dakota!

User

First class service, wonderful staff, dinner was superb and the room was comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was excellent.

I find the Dakota Edinburgh to be one of the best places to unwind and totally relax, thank you to all we shall return.

User

Fantastic hotel, one of the best we have stayed in. There is a lot of attention to detail. For instance USB points next to the bed, large bath towels, accessible power points and a comfortable bed. The food is to die for. The breakfast is cooked to order so no food is standing around being kept warm. The staff are really friendly and warm. My only criticism is the place is quite dark.

User

1st time staying in the Dakota and would come back again. Excellent service by all the staff, very polite and friendly. Food was top notch. Worth every penny. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

User

Me and my partner went here for valentines beautiful hotel and lovely rooms, and staff were friends the only downfall was when we went for food the restaurant was a bit dark.. and the food wasn't that great for how pricey it was . The dumplings tasted like soggy pasta in oxo cube and the steak was lovely to share but maybe wasn't the biggest portion , so we ended up munching food upstairs.

User

Was ok not a 5 star ,,, yes hotel rooms very nice , evening food good , breakfast not good as it's table service , also couldn't get in to room with my key card , also Tv didn't work , and no coffee in room , apart from that nice hotel ,, staff very good ,

User

I'll start by stating that it's hard to criticise my favourite place to stay. A revisit to what was my favourite hotel, for a night stay, dinner and breakfast. My last visit was very good, even though the steak I had, had been over done, but it was the way they handled the problem, excellent, and it was the waitress that wanted to replace my dish, but also took my girlfriend's meal away as well. Gave us both completely newly cooked meals, now that's what I call first class customer care.

Recently, the visit that was very much looked forward to was disappointing. We had an executive room and so had access to the executive lounge, and greeted by, Sabato, an excellent host.

The meal.

Sirloin steak and Rib eye, with sides, mediocre, fairly tasteless meat all round, wondering if the supplier has been changed?

The sides were poor. Gratin dauphinoise with a white sauce poured on top. Left a lot to be desired.

The sides were removed from the bill. I would much rather have paid the full amount and have had the meal at their normally high standard.

The payment.

What a poor layout to the bill.

As I was to have a refund, the bill presented in the first instance I never saw. It's not rocket science. Simply put, a list of debits and credits with a description line is all that is required. But not available it would seem. So, it became so complicated that the young lady behind the desk had to calculate the amounts manually and then explain the, this deducted here and its for this, that's the cost there, so we took that off there! Really! I expect a hotel that has clearly invested such a large about of money in such a business, that they could at least produce an invoice as clear as my local Indian takeaway!

The bedroom and bathroom are great, very happy.

So, in a nutshell, meat quality, sides a mishmash and the final account, well, nul points.
