It’s been a great week for Dalmuir BC on the playing side. Well done to both the Under 45 team (v OK) and Top 10 (v Milngavie) in progressing to the next round of the DBA Competitions. AND we are hosting the DBA Finals this Saturday!!

Dalmuir Bowling Club are honoured to be hosting the 2019 Dumbartonshire Bowling Association Championship Finals on Saturday 29th June. DBA President Hugh Sharpe will be overseeing matters on the day and as you can see there is an excellent lineup of matches. All spectators are more than welcome. The bar will be suitably stocked should any refreshments be required!

Good luck to our Under 45 team tonight as they take on a talented Old Kilpatrick team at Westerton BC. It was an extremely tight game last year which Dalmuir edged before going on to lift the trophy! OK will be after revenge and bragging rights! The players on both sides are all good pals and the match is sure to be played in great spirits. Get along and support your team!

On behalf of everyone at Dalmuir I would like to congratulate Radnor Park BC on winning the 2019 CDBA League title. I’m sure there will be a few sore heids this morning!

Dalmuir Bowling Club are sad to announce that former long time member Willie Miller has passed away. Willie had been residing in Mount Pleasant House for the last few years. The funeral will be held at 2.30pm at Clydebank Crematorium on Wednesday 19th June. We apologise for the very late notice.

Good luck to our own Grant Sayer who is playing in the Gents Singles Final at the Bowls Scotland District 11 at Oban BC tonight.
Good luck also to our friends at Old Kilpatrick and Radnor Park who are competing in the Triples Final and Senior Fours respectively.

Well done to the Dalmuir Fours of Ian Duncan, Phil Sherry, Dennis Durning and Hugh Sharpe who won tonight and qualified for the DBA Championship Finals at Dalmuir BC on Saturday 29th June 2019.

Tickets for the Eighties Live Cabaret on 13th July will be available by this weekend. Tickets are priced £7 each. A List for names of people interested in attending will be on the Notice Board in Club from tomorrow evening. The other way of ordering tickets in advance is to secure them through this Facebook page.

Dalmuir BC are very sad to announce the passing of long term member Neill Connell Jnr after a period of illness. Neil’s funeral will be held on Saturday 15th June, 2019 at 10.00am at St Stephens Chapel followed by a burial service at 11.15am at North Dalnottar Cemetery; thereafter to Dalmuir BC.

Good luck to Grant Sayer who is representing Dalmuir BC in the Bowls Scotland Inter District Singles Final against Oban BC at Coleraine BC tonight. All winners qualify for the District Finals at Oban BC next week. Good luck!

UPCOMING GAMES at DALMUIR BOWLING CLUB
Curry Day will be held THIS Saturday 1st June at 1.30 for 2.00pm. Basically it’s a Sweep with Big Gordon making a curry when we come off the green for those who want it). Highly recommended! Please put your names down ASAP- there are still a few places left. Sheet is up & list will close at 9pm tomorrow.
The annual Cumbernauld Friendly will be held on Saturday 8th June. It’s an AWAY fixture this year and a bus will be booked leaving the... Club around 12.30pm latest. The sheet is on the Notice Board so please get your names down ASAP to avoid disappointment!!!
On a further note our contractor Pro Turf are carrying out work to the green tomorrow. They intend to apply granular feed to the green and we need volunteers to assist Gus at 11.00am to help cane the playing surface. Canes will be provided. Please help. This will greatly benefit the green. The Fours ties scheduled for tomorrow night will go ahead!!

Our next Cabaret will take place on Saturday 1st June. If it’s even half as good as the ABBA Tribute last February then it will be a brilliant night! Tickets are now available and are selling out fast. Get in touch ASAP!

Dalmuir Bowling Club held the annual Stewart Cup internal Pairs competition today. Congratulations to this year’s winners Chris Duncan and David MacMillan who beat Phil Sherry and Paul Kane Snr in the final. Thank you very much to all the members who took part today.
