There’ll be a 2 week gap before the next blocks starting back up so on October 22nd & 29th I’m organising coaching & matchplay sessions from 6 - 7.30pm. Cost will be £6 per session & you can sign up for 1 or both of these sessions at Reception.

The next 2 Sunday’s are gonna be busy with tournaments taking place in the main hall. On the 28th Oct I’ll be organising a Doubles Comp in-club (£5 entry payable at Reception) & this coming Sunday (21st Oct) we’re hosting a Tennis Scotland Open Tour 300 event. Some familiar faces in the draw - please feel free to come down to the club to watch the matches! I don’t have exact timings yet but play scheduled to start at 9am. I’ll keep everyone informed & will also release courts to members as & when they become available.

Due to the ongoing temperature issues in our indoor pool we regret to advise the swimming lessons have been cancelled today. The engineers are back out today and hope to resolve the situation. Please accept our sincere apologies. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

User

We have been having difficulties in regulating the inside pool temperature. It is with regret that we have taken the decision to cancel all swimming lessons today. Please accept our sincere apologies.

Hi folks,
Apologies for my terrible photography skills however I wanted to share a couple of photos with you!
Club member Marjory Love recently represented GB at the the ITF Seniors World Championships in Umag, Croatia!... An achievement in itself to play for GB but Marjory was part of the team that won the bronze medal beating France in a playoff match to secure bronze!
In addition to this Marjory also won silver in the ladies doubles losing out on the Gold by the narrowest of margins 10-7 in the deciding match tiebreak!
Congratulations from us all at the club!🎾🏆

Hi folks here’s a nice PlaySight drill that Ross & I practiced after last night’s club session. The purpose of the drill is to promote good depth & net clearance when rallying from the baseline.
After logging in go to Drills & set the parameters as follows; Select targets so players score between 2 & 3 points depending on depth of shot. (See photo below)... Tap on the net to select -1 (1 point deducted for hitting the net!) Go to advanced drill settings to select minimum speed (Ross & I selected 40mph but you’re welcome to go faster!) Also in advanced drill settings select net clearance of 2+feet (so any ball clearing net at 0-2ft won’t score any points) You can select ‘teamwork’ to try to achieve a combined target or opt for the head to head option. Ross & I played head to head to 20 points in order to make drill more competitive!
Good luck!
Matthew & Ross

We just want to thank Caitlyn, Steph, Nico, Chris, Callum and all the Mini Active team for a fabulous summer of activities. All the teachers are just so enthusiastic and encouraging. It was so nice to know that Roberto would have an activity that would get rid of some energy even if it was pouring with rain outside! Thanks again everyone.

The gym is amazing, love the boxercise, grit cardio and grit series classes and also train wuth the best pwrsonal trainer Jay paton, since training with him ive lost almost 2 stone and i couldnt be happier and i am now jyat training to liise body faf and rone up now

The Renfrew club is great. All the instructors are fabulous instructors but my favourite has got to be Lloyd though.

The Swimming pool and health suite are lovely and clean. I have to admit though that I get slightly annoyed by people reserving loungers and seats with their towels. There's pegs for their towels!

My only gripe is that there aren't as good a selection of classes as there are available in council gyms.

On balance though it's a brilliant club.

User

Recently started taking my 5 month old and 2 year old daughters to the buggy walk and the arts and crafts/baby sensory. We all love it. Really good now there is activities for the under 3s.

Also means I have got to know Lesley & Laura and have no hesitations leaving my children with them in their excellent crèche whilst I get some much needed time to myself

User

Not overcrowded mate ,should try the gym at from 5o'clock on word's, all the cheap passes given out

User

Membership team are very lovely non - pushy informative and very knowledgable. I love the club and love the staff. I have just joined again after moving back home after 20 years down south and what a lovely club. Finlay and the blonde girl with the south african accent truly lovely - you all are in Renfrew.

My only negative is that there are a few older members who are very against families. They do lap swimming in the no restriction swim zone when the swimming lanes are completely empty then bully and push children aggressively.- using rude and abusive language. It appears they have an agenda because they could use the designated swim lanes. These members need dealing with because if I leave David Lloyd it will be because of these people not how the club is run because I love it and my children really can't wait to go back.

What I say to those few members is that we pay for a membership too. Children are future members so your damaging their perceptions and the club's future by behaving in this selfish way. The swimming lanes are for lane swimming use them and leave the children to enjoy themselves in the designated restriction free zone. Or if you do use this restriction free zone ( as your entitled to) don't bully or harass the children if they accidentaly bump into you.

Lets have fun together its a great club.

I would just like to say a huge thank you to Caitlin Stewart for making my daughter Chloe's nite. She had been as sick as a dog today and was unable to make club nite. My eldest daughter must have been telling the DL kids staff and when she came home she handed Chloe a get well soon card made by Caitlin . She was delighted.

I cannot praise the DL Kids staff highly enough. Every single staff member makes the kids feel so special and they love every minute of being at the club. You guys do a fantastic job and would like you all to be recognised for all your hard work.

User

I have recently re joined the renfrew club previous a member over 10 yrs ago and was impressed to see all the upgrades done recently although i enjoy being a member at this club feel they should of had jaccuizi area upgrade as is pretty poor and the same old one i used over 10 years ago! Just feel we pay top dollar to be a member of this club and we should expect to get what we pay for!

User

I can't fault the club at all the staff are all very welcoming and all the classes I've done have been a good workout and the instructors aren't to pushy. Just started adult swimming lesson and it is well worth it and the instructor is very reassuring which is good.

User

Have recently rejoined after a break for about 8 years....very warm welcome for staff and members....Jay set up a good workout for me in the gym and I'm going for it !!! I'll be back to tennis next year when over my knee op !!! Best decision I've made...delighted

User

Great gym not overcrowded like most, friendly staff, great trainers especially Gavin always friendly, and if you want to go hard core try some body combat with Chris or Les Mills Grit class with Daniel. Brutal Classes but worth it if you want results.

User

After being a member at about 5 different gyms over the past 15 years this is by far the best. Gym equipment is state of the art. Classes are fantastic. The gym is very spacious. I love it

User

Really disappointed in David Lloyd Renfrew club yesterday. The outdoor pool is adults only all day all week except for a small window on a Friday for the whole of the month of May, bearing in mind May is often a warm and sunny spell, as it is at the moment. Headed to the pool yesterday straight from school to enjoy a couple of hours in the sunshine with my 13 year old son and we were excluded from enjoying this facility! Surely a health club should be encouraging kids to be active not banning them! Not to mention that our monthly subscription doesn’t give us access to all the facilities. Very poor show Renfrew club. Not a happy customer.

User

Its a good club with good facilities but ask way too much for the monthly membership admin fee.

I am a previous member so all details will be on file. I am willing to pay up-front for 1 year with the 1st month free but on top of this is almost £100 admin fee for me and family. Glasgow Club are offering January free and no admin fee - better deal.

I took my nephew in for lunch today, he has a nut allergy and his mum was previously assured by the manager there was food on the menu that he could eat. However going and checking the menu there was only an omelette or jacket potato suitable for him which he eats neither of. This is not acceptable for a health club when im sure there are multiple children with nut allergies.

User

Have been a member since opening. Can't remember studios ever having satisfactory air conditioning. Despite many complaints this issue has never been addressed. Thousands of £s have been spent refurbishing and on new equipment but air con does not seem a priority. Expecting staff to work and members to do high impact classes in these conditions is shocking. I am sure health and safety rules are not being adhered to.

I am asthmatic and had to stop several times in the Zumba class this morning, as I had to at the classes on Wed and Thurs mornings. 63 deg - Certainly not the standard expected from members or prospective new members.

User

Extremely disappointed at the constant changes to and relaxation of your club rules governing the use of the outdoor pool "adult only" timetable!

Having expressed my concerns on numerous occasions with reception staff and lifeguards and also using the tablet facility at the exit to express my concerns (to which I received a holding response assuring me someone would be in touch which never happened either!) I requested to speak with a manager last week for clarification on the rules and establish why they are constantly being changed.

Following our discussion he explained that the best way for me to be clear when the pool is adult only was to check the FB page which would inform all members of the times for adult only and also kids swim periods.

Did this last night and FB advised today (28 May) adult only up till 12 noon!

Notice board at poolside clearly stated No Lifeguard on duty swimming for adults only! Why then were kids in the pool from 11.30 am? Apart from my dissatisfaction at not being able to enjoy a "kid free" swim this is a serious breach of your health and safety regulations as children are not allowed in the pool when a lifeguard is not on duty!

The constant varying of your rules is not helpful to anyone ...myself as someone who wishes to swim in a "kid free" period and also parents who must also be unsure of kids' swim times.

Club Rules are there for a reason and for clarity for all members and by continually changing or relaxing them is only causing major disquiet from all sides. Therefore I am asking for rules to be set and adhered to which are clear and concise which all members can follow! Surely this is the sensible approach which keeps everybody happy!

It was so nice to know that Roberto would have an activity that would get rid of some energy even if it was pouring with rain outside! Thanks again everyone.

Not overcrowded mate ,should try the gym at from 5o'clock on word's, all the cheap passes given out

Great gym not overcrowded like most, friendly staff, great trainers especially Gavin always friendly, and if you want to go hard core try some body combat with Chris or Les Mills Grit class with Daniel. Brutal Classes but worth it if you want results.

After being a member at about 5 different gyms over the past 15 years this is by far the best. Gym equipment is state of the art. Classes are fantastic. The gym is very spacious. I love it
