Days Inn Abington M74

Good place for an overnight on the way to north of Scotland. Surprisingly good views considering it's right by the motorway.

Good Basic Hotel. Stopped here because my mate was doing a self propelled 3 peaks challenge. The room was clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable and the staff were polite. Big car park as well with a petrol station and restaurant (services next to it).

Second night was much more comfortable than the first. Had a vehicle breakdown and got the last available room. It was a smoking 🚬 room. (I didn't know that hotels still did that) Right off I could tell that the housekeeping staff doesn't clean the smoking rooms very well. It was highly evident after I moved into a very clean non-smoking room on the second night.

Staff was friendly and accommodating. Public spaces were clean. Amenities were sparse. Don't think I've ever seen such a small TV in a hotel. Price was nice though.

Comfy bed, but room was cold on arrival, heater was good though. Bathroom did not seem 'spotless' stray hair in sink, toilet seat loose, shower head needed descaling and found a spider under spare quilt when I wanted to use to keep warm. Room did appear clean in general though and plentiful supply of tea and coffee unlike the other well known budget chain. Would stay again as I was probably unlucky!

For the price paid the room was okay and the bed reasonably comfortable. I booked through the website and was surprised when I got there that I had been given a smoking room.i didn't know they were still a thing. It didn't state this on the website so worth looking out for. As I arrived so late I didn't bother raising with reception, as just i wanted to get some shut eye. In hindsight I should of as the clean clothes taken in the room with me ended up smelling of stale smoke. Also worth noting despite reception confirming that my car had been put through the system to avoid getting a fine from the parking company i did end up getting a £100 fine through the post. It was fixed by phoning the hotel but shouldn't of happened.

always stay here when on way back from England fab place great staff and very friendly and dogs are always welcome

Was a last minute stop and was lucky theit was room for us all. Very comfy and friendly staff

Non-Smoking room stunk of cigarettes, woman behind desk refused to move our room because we had slept in the room already, we arrived at 0130am after a 5 hour drive we were knackered so went to sleep. Bathroom was disgusting, mould on the ceiling, shower curtain looked awful (like it hadnt been cleaned in months) power socket in the room didnt work (the one by the mirror so I couldnt straighten my hair), the sheets had marks on them and hair on the pillow cases (not ours)
