The story of Deacon William Brodie, an 18th-century cabinet-maker and highly respected member of Edinburgh society who led a secret double life as leader of a gang of night-time burglars. When his crimes eventually caught up with him, he was hanged from the gibbet he had himself only recently redesigned. We called in here for lunch on Thursday...very enjoyable, the Tomato Broth was lovely, and I had a Egg and cress sandwich to go with it...ooohh and a nice cup of tea. They where so nice to our puppy dog too, he was given a fresh bowl of water, as it was warm... definitely recommend.

User

Visited here 4 times during our stay in Edinburgh. Friendly and efficient staff and service. Lovely food served in this quaint but very nice surroundings. Would definitely recommend eating here to anyone planning to travel to Edinburgh.

User

Toured the Royal Mile with my mom and my two sisters. We wanted a little snack and popped into this cute place! It was the last full day of our vacation in Scotland, and on that last day I ate my MOST FAVORITE thing I had eaten on my entire trip!!!!...an apple scone!! It was huge and soft and amazing!!! It had cream and jam too! It was FANTASTIC!!!! It was the most perfect way to end our trip! Next time I’m in Scotland, this will be a MUST on my itinerary!!!!! Mmmm....I can taste that scone now just thinking about it!

User

Such a cute little cafe we were so happy we found. I had a delicious salmon bagel for brunch and it was lovely. I also bought a piece of Tiffin to take away which was that good k went back and bought more to take home with me!. Definitely recommend.

User

Stopped for tea and a festive mince pie today while shopping on the royal mile. Cosy little cafe and friendly staff. Highly recommend for some homemade food

User

Popped in for coffee while deciding how to spend our afternoon and it was so cosy and welcoming that my notoriously fussy mother went out of her way to return for lunch the next day. Excellent food, very good coffee and catered for my gluten intolerance with ease. Will definitely be returning next time I’m in Edinburgh.

User

Perfection! Delicious ‘homemade’ food and drink. Very friendly, helpful and swift service. Good choice of lactose free and gluten free (my needs) - Delicious flat white Almond Milk coffee and truly scrumptious pear and almond tart. My companions had huge divine Scones. Scrummy raspberry jam .... I had a taste - no doubt Scottish raspberries (the best). Tea and prosecco went down well. Such a lovely courtyard. I can even recommend the ladies loo! Can’t wait to visit again. We were blessed with glorious warm sunny weather this time - so the courtyard was perfect. Another time maybe inside that looks cosy and inviting. A very big thank you to special people who make it such a lovely place!

One of the best bagels (their salmon bagel was delicious!) and scones I've ever had, cozy place and friendly, efficient service. Will go back if I return to Edinburgh.

User

On Edinburgh’s famous Royal Mile, this place is splendid for tea, coffee and cake. The home-made scones are a must-have here, especially the cheese and chive ones. The service is exceptionally good here too.

User

Had a lovely lunch here! Fabulous service, super friendly, super attentive and my son has never had so many dairy free lunch choices to pick from! All tasted amazing too.

User

User

Three sisters and a friend on a Girls' Day/Night Oot. Thoroughly enjoyed the cream tea. Would have liked more butter with the cheese scone - jam and cream don't really go !!!! Very nice wee place.

User

Nice quaint little place very small, in busy times rush to a table or have a little wait. Very good menu, something for everyone. Very good service. Our order came wrong but was rectified asap. Highly recommend.

User

Good quality food and coffee. Lost a star due to salad with breakfast!! ?! I scooped it off the plate.

User

A little royal gem nipped in for some lunch after some sight seeing. We had a short weight outside but before ordering a wee drink to keep us warm we were in and seated. The cafe is quaint and welcoming. The staff were very friendly. We went for the soup and sandwich combo and we were very pleased. They were both beautiful. After that and a cuppa Scottish tea and a mulled wine we were ready to tackle the cold again many thanks, highly recommended

User

Went with my grandson for lunch, had to move from sitting outside to inside as no-one approached us to give a menu or take the order. Went inside and was told to place order at counter after we were given a table. Didn't wait long which was good, however a party of 7 sat behind me at a table for 4 and it got rather cramped, not the cafe's fault I know. Good food and reasonable prices.

User

So disappointed after really looking forward to going. Had to wait over 50 minutes for our food to arrive, people who arrived much after us had eaten and left before ours had even arrived. Husbands enjoyed his cooked breakfast once it arrived but my bowl of porridge was just tepid.
