This week is Mental Health Awareness Week,
which means that people all over Scotland are thinking about their mental health and what they might be able to do to feel better.
If you are feeling sad, or scared, or worried, or anxious, or you’re concerned about someone who might be feeling that way (sad, scared, worried, anxious), it’s important not to struggle on your own.
... One of the biggest things you can do to help your mental health is to talk to someone about it. That might be a friend, the GP, a mental health professional… anyone really, who will be sympathetic, safe, and caring.
We have monthly drop-in meetings here at Deaf Services Lanarkshire, and everyone is welcome.
We talk about common problems people often experience and explain ways to help yourself and help others.
The next meeting is at 10am on Saturday June the 8th.
Please come along and join in.

Hello, I am Carly.
This week is Deaf Awareness Week.
What is Deaf Awareness?
... This is to raise people’s awareness and understanding about deaf people and different barriers and issues faced by deaf people every day – no matter how much hearing loss they have.
The aim is to remind you deaf people are here – we are not invisible.
Better awareness means you can make a difference to deaf people – how?
You will be more able to communicate with deaf people – this will reduce isolation for deaf people, knowing you are making an effort to interact with them.
Also you will be more able to identify barriers and issues that may arise with deaf people in your house, work, social situations and so on,
Often the main barrier is caused by communication.
Do you want to know more?
Deaf Services Lanarkshire offers deaf awareness training throughout the year so please contact us for more information.
