We had Cullen skink soup and a sandwich and a coffee. Great price and a really nice place to eat.

User

We eat there often for our Sunday breakfast, the catering staff are very nice and if you asked for food to be cooked in a certain way or if you don't like something ie: black pudding, I ask if I can get an extra slice of bacon instead , and they oblige. The waiting staff are so nice and friendly too. Definitely well worth a visit.

Was in a few weeks back with my friend and my son for our lunch, food was fantastic and staff was great with my son who was gettin fed up and decided to play up a bit. Diane(waitress) came upstairs with crayons and colouring in book to keep him amused! Its the little friendly touches that make a restaurant even better! X

User

The best veggie breakfast for miles! And great value. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The gift shop is always crammed with nice things, not just the shortbread. The Creme Caramel shortbread is to die for!

User

Passing through on our way to Aberdeen and really please we called in. Lovely cafe, great selection of biscuits, cakes and treats, very friendly staff and was interesting to see what goes on behind the scenes.

User

Just had some shortie for supper with a cup of tea. Only got 3 pieces left, starting to sweat because I can't buy it in Australia. Thanks to my Auntie for bringing it over for me . Best Shortbread EVER !

User

Just back from a lovely prosecco afternoon tea for 4. There was so much selection of sandwiches and fancy pieces, along with unlimited tea or coffee and a glass of prosecco - amazing value for money and would deffo recommend! Staff were also very lovely and attentive!

I am using some of your recipes after spotting a rave review for lemon crunch bars on a Facebook cookery forum. Mine are now requested, and they are the best, tastiest no-fuss lemon bars ever. Also, they have no eggs so people who can't eat eggs adore them, too. I have also been looking for the ultimate millionaire's shortbread base and think your recipe is the way to go. Rachel Allen, eat your heart out.

User

Great place, too busy.

User

Great place to stop in for a bite to eat food is great just like the prices well worth a stop this was my first and can't wait to go back

User

Fabulous wee restaurant- what a wonderful selection on the menu for adults and children. The Cullen skink was delicious! The shop is great too, as well as the opportunity to have a sneaky peak into the factory. The staff were wonderfully helpful as we left a precious item there and they helped get it back to us. We will most definitely be returning to Deans on our next visit to Huntly.

User

Came for lunch yesterday (24.09.17), yet again prompt service, lovely food and all the staff we encountered greeted us with smiles and chatted away to us (very polite). So thank you.

User

We came to Visit Dean's after a trip to Huntly Castle and were so excited to try some Scottish shortbread,we had picked up a brochure along our journey. We arrived in the gift shop and it was lovely and the ladies working were very helpful. I would give them 5 star reviews. Then we went into the cafe to get some drinks and were going to head out but instead a few people from my family decided that they wanted some of the delicious cake that was on the counter. We sat at 2 tables and were talking about our day's adventure and how the staff at dean's were very happy people and stayed busy cleaning despite it being quite empty. 3 members of my family left and went across the road as the police/ fire department were doing a demonstration and the kids wanted to watch. The other remaining 4 of us finished the teas/ coffee's we had brought, when all of a sudden a employee came over to us from out in the kitchen and said " if you have to go cups , that's exactly what it means.... To go" my husband explained that we had changed our mind and got cake and things. She said " well you shouldn't have those cups". She looked embarrassed and walked off into the back of the kitchen. How incredibly rude - this was our first time we had ever been here and didn't know that there is a price difference between take away or staying in ( as there is no price difference noted). There were only people at 3 other tables so it's not as if the table was needed. That employee made an excellent visit go leave a sour taste and had I not have already been to the gift shop I would have just left..... Everyone else was great except for that one female, brown hair, older employee...

User

Shocked today to see how much the prices have went up! Asked if my daughter could have a half portion of scampi but told no so i ordered a full size portion - £10.80! Half the plate filled with salad and peas which I found rather strange. I had a panini which came with a small side salad and approx 1/2 dozen crisps - £7.20! Way over priced!!!

User

I ordered a prawn Marie rose sandwich on brown bread it was just awful the sauce was very very wet just like water which made the consistency of the sandwich very soggy I only ate 2 pieces out of the 4 very disappointed and would think twice about going back as it wasn't cheap.

User

We used to go to the bistro regularly. However, after a few months of not going, I found that the prices have taken a massive hike and the value for money was not good. Very sad as I always enjoyed our visits. Sadly I won’t be returning.

User

Very disappointed with what I have seen and learnt about Deans today!

1. A group of mums and toddlers who met regularly at your establishment received a rather offensive email from yourselves effectively banning them from your premises due to the amount of mess their toddlers made!

Granted there may be health & safety issues which were also raised, however, the way in which u dealt with this matter - so formally and abruptly is rather poor to say the least!

There was no personal interaction, where the issues could be raised, discussed and simply rectified. You just sent an email to a mum requesting they did not return! You have offended and discriminated against these mothers!

2. It is understood that you have also requested that workmen no longer enter your premises in their workwear! Again this appears to be discrimination on your part! Albeit they seem happier as they can get their food cheaper & quicker from Bennets round the corner!

You are restaurant in a small town and thus far have alienated a fair proportion of the local population! I am aware of a number of people who on principle, will no longer be giving their custom to you in the future.

What are you trying to achieve?
