Declan Fergus Coaching Academy Description
With this coaching programme 1-2-1 training will be offered for footballers of appropriate ages ranging from young to pro level. There will be a main focus on 5 areas; Technical, Physical, Tactical, Nutritional and Psychological.
Group team sessions are also available in which I can come out and coach at the chosen team. Putting on appropriate sessions for the players and giving insight to my coaching methods.
The training will consist of the latest coaching and sports science methods which in return aid in improving such aspects as speed, strength, power, agility, co-ordination, balance and flexibility. As well as the obvious technical skills needed to succeed within the game. There will be a main focus on Technical and Physical training out of the 5 areas mentioned, with the others being worked as appropriate. Which may vary on individual requirements.
I have studied Sports Coaching for a few years now at degree level obtaining HNC and HND qualifications in Sports Coaching. I have also worked my way up the SFA coaching pathway to UEFA level. Within my coaching practice I have been lucky enough to have had the opportunity to go abroad to coach, experiencing countries such as Spain, Sweden, Norway, Holland and South Korea. Where I obtained great amounts of new knowledge, insight and understanding of the game.
I am also responsible for my own youth team at Hearts FC
Training will be suited for the individual and can focus primarily on a certain aspect or aspects perhaps seen as a weakness or an area in which the individual would like to excel. A combination of aspects may also be worked within a session.
Training times can be arranged to what suits both parties as well as the venue.
I feel this type of training will greatly benefit any participant.
Message for details regarding prices and venues. I would not advise any more than a 2 hour session due to intensity.

Great effort from this group today in a session which included SAQ work, ball mastery, passing combinations and small sided games.
With players from Celtic, Rangers, Hearts and Hibs as well as high level boys clubs all working together to become better in their off season 👌🏻⚽️

Great week of camp at Dodgertown in Vero Beach, Florida. A great effort from all the players in attendance at the residential camp with nearly 60 in total. A brilliant group of coaching staff and a thoroughly good time. Players learnt lots and were challenged while enjoying themselves. See you back in December ..... now for a trip to the Bahamas and Miami 😎
Great first couple days of camp so far in Florida 🇺🇸, over 50 kids on the camp who have been great and some weather for it ☀️⚽️
All sessions/classes will be off for the next two weeks as I’m away on a coaching trip to Florida. Will message all participants once I’m back 👍🏻✈️⚽️
For Summer Camps, I will only be running two weeks of camps at Lochend this summer due to commitments elsewhere and coaching trips abroad ✈️ these will be weeks beginning 8th July and then 22nd July.

Great Session for the Elite Academy Group which runs every Sunday now 4.30pm to 5.30pm from 2006 to 2009 age groups. Brilliant standard 👏⚽️
Position Specific Drill - Central Midfielders. - Looking to combine in tight areas with first time round the corner passes and bounce passes
Great standard of ball carrying and ball manipulation for a 10 year old! Working on different turns in both a skill and protective manner. Great for a holding midfielder and to watch players like De Jong and Busquets do it on the big stage
