Our new Galley shed is open today till 3pm tying in with the 'Come to Brae days'. Get along to see some memorabilia, pictures & suits.

Saturday night seen the official opening of our new Galley Shed in Brae. The nights proceedings started off with former guizer jarls Eddie Thompson & Andy Hall reeling off the history of our festival and the layout costings of the new building. It’s was then handed over to Deltings first Guizer Jarl Mr. Harold Johnson who lead the ranks back in 1981 to cut the ribbon and declare the new building open. The night followed with food, drams & tunes supplied by the Sandyburn clan ...& friends. A fantastic night was had by all, and the possibility of a few sore heads on Sunday morning. The committee would like to thank everyone for they’re help, effort & donations making this project possible. Without the help from the community, this would never of been possible. That’s us wrapped up!! Been a busy 2 weeks getting the last bits and bobs complete in preparation for our grand opening tonight. Been a number of late nights to assure we were to finish for opening, but is now ready for the world to see. We’re very much looking forward to ‘Officially opening’ tonight and hope to see all the faces that made, helped & supported us towards getting a new Galley shed built! This will now hopefully see many many years of Jarl squads & Up-Helly-Aa...’s to come. We hope you all enjoy the use of our new facility should you, a family member or friend be involved from one way or another. Time to let the hair down now and chill until we get underway tonight.

Here is the end product!!! A group of balder, colder Vikings! The squad have decided to use the haircuts to fundraise for CLIC Sargent, a charity which helps families and individuals dealing with childhood cancer. So far the squad have raised over £640.
