Derwent College Alumni Description
Derwent's unique character owes much to the original design of the college and to the activism of its students, which together have fostered a strong college identity.
Derwent is a lively and sociable college and Derwent students organise the biggest and best social events on campus. There is a deep sense of community and this is reflected in the enthusiasm students have to be involved in college life. The sociability and student-run character of the college requires students to demonstrate a corresponding degree of responsibility and respect for others.
There is extensive participation by students of all years in social events, societies, fundraising, volunteering and college sports. You will find there are plenty of activities to get involved in, and we also have a residential community dedicated to international development and human rights.

Massive congratulations to Derwent Men’s Rugby 1st's, Derwent Netball 1st’s, Derwent Squash 1st's and Derwent Men’s Football 1st’s for all qualifying for Varsity in Durham. All four teams have also gone through as top seeds!
