Designing with Data. Design Informatics is a joint venture between the School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh and the School of Design (Edinburgh College of Art).

Design Informatics focuses on designing with data and sees designers work alongside
programmers, computer scientists and entrepreneurs to help build new products and
services, including the next generation of social media tools. The Centre runs three strands: teaching, research and a Resident Entrepreneurs programme.

Edinburgh College of Art wishes to appoint a Research Software Engineer in the Centre for Design Informatics, to support the Data Driven Innovation section of the City Deal. The post will support staff and project partners in the development of prototype data driven innovation products and services, while taking overall responsibil...ity for the management of the back-end infrastructure, and software assets, of the Centre for Design Informatics.
The post holder will take a leading role in the detailed planning, co-ordination and completion of multiple phases of the work for multiple multidisciplinary projects; developing prototypes of data driven innovation products and supporting the team to create exhibition-ready pieces for (e.g.) Dutch Design Week and the new Bayes Centre.
