Nurturing creativity in young people in Dumfries and Galloway through the ethos of the da Vinci Decathlon Challenge

The Dumfries and Galloway da Vinci Decathlon Challenge is both a bi-annual schools based competition and a way of working with schools in the region to develop skills for learning, life and work. The da Vinci Decathlon Challenge concept was developed by Knox Grammar, Sydney, Australia originally a regional and national venture in their home country.

Knox Grammar has since broadened the scope of the Decathlon, and we are the first Scottish, British and European Country not only to develop our own programme of learning but to sponsor young people to participate in the International da Vinci Decathlon Challenge also developed by Knox. In 2015 /2016 and beyond, we are working with schools in Dumfries and Galloway to develop skills and attributes in our young people and select a team to compete in Italy 2017 at the International Challenge event.
