Bernie is so big we had to make extra room for him. We've given him lunch and he's hanging out with his humans on Rose Street. He looks so huggable! #dugsinpubs #dogsofinstagram #dugsnpubs #dogfriendly #dugs #stbernard #dirtydicks #dirtydicksedinburgh #rosestreet #edinburgh #scotland #dicksdugs #dugswelcome #ginbar #whiskybar #scottishbanter
This gorgeous wee lass is Rennie. The blue skirt isn't her mum's weird dress sense - poor Rennie is undergoing chemo. Hasn't affected her super sweet, friendly, lovable personality though. We absolutely ❤ her! #dugsinpubs #dogsofinstagram #pupsofinstagram #dicksdugs #dirtydicks #dirtydicksedinburgh #rosestreet #edinburgh #scotland #ginbar #whiskybar #rockrosegin
Sun's oot! This beautiful day brings to mind the Rhinoatrees of the great Anauroch deserts. During the the 23 hour sunlight cycle of summer the trees would share there solar power while the Rhino shares any water it found. Further proof that life finds a way.
We also sell hoodies! Help spread the dirty Dicks story and look awesome to boot!

We are on deliveroo! Want to have some lovely haggis but can't be bothered with all the odes and songs? Order it from us and we will do it for you!
These (slightly creepy) toys were donated by the Welsh rock N roll star Imp y Celyn. They were a gift to his great grand father from Dick himself. Imp y brought them back to us because they were making his young daughter (Susan) uncomfortable.
Dick made this chair for the son of his dear friend Bob Chratchit. The boys name was Tim, he battled though a life threatening illness to become the proprietor of a small but very reputable private lending firm known for it's care of those most in need.
This delicate parasol was a thank you gift from the young princess of the nightless city. He had spent the summer there teaching he English and gaelic after leaving the island of Figueres.
This trombone was gifted to Dick after his very brief but memorable stint with The West Minstrel Abies. The troupe had been down a player for quite a time because the instrument had deemed unplayable, but dick had the instrument bellowing like a whale short order, in return he simply asked to travel with the merry minstrels. That tour was the groups most successful before or since.

When I was a child my dad always took me here for food after visiting the Disney shop. Big portions, lovely staff and it’s just the exact same as it was when I was younger. Lovely place
This is a bar you have to visit when your in Edinburgh with all the old stuff on the walls it's definitely an aladins cave with great beer
This has to be the most amazing and aquatinted pub we have been in and the staff were amazing and so friendly. Highly recommend going in here if you go to Edinburgh 🍻🍸🥃
The food was great! Roy was an excellent server...
Popped in for a quick drink with friends yesterday evening- welcomed as soon as we walked in the door and it was cosy packed and very atmospheric. Served right away and had a great chat with a guy at the bar who was going to the Sleep in the Park event - he said he’d had a drink on the house when the staff heard 👍🏻
We’d definitely go back 🥂
Ok. So it's been a few months. This would be my bar. My local bar. My...I walk in and the bartender already knows what I want kind of bar. I visited in May, and the bartender was the sommelier of whisky. Patient. Beyond knowledgeable. And genuinely had a blast with me discovering local (not available in the US) whisky. It was one of my most memorable nights.....this place is beyond the bomb diggity.
Lovely little quirky bar, very welcoming to a solo traveler!
Lovely bar with very witty bar staff... put my phone behind bar and they took a selfie and put it as my screen saver.... I thought it hilarious
Loved Dirty Dicks its a great bar wit lovely staff and wud recommend it
Great food in a quirky little pub I had the pan-fried salmon hubby had the dirty burger
Great food , staff very kind and professional. Thank you for being dog friendly
Great bar. Quirky 'decor' full of ornaments, a tourist trail of its own, musical instruments, tankards, beer signs, golf clubs, potties, bedpans, carved animals, hats, trays, mirrors and many more categories, the number of which is a test in itself. A particular attraction is the hundred half-hidden whiskeys above the bar. Then there are the loveliest bar staff, every time I have been in. The menus come in a Broons Annual, a Scottish icon of newspaper comic strips, and provide a broad selection of typical Scottish pub cuisine. Enjoy
First time in Edimbourg, I come here and I love it!
Fantastic atmosphere and food. Staff lovely and helpful too. Only small criticism is the ladies toilet. Only one toilet and extremely cramped but didnt spoil a fab experience.
Awesome place on Rose Street, lovely food and kid friendly. Will be back
Popped in just for the name great wee pub A must to visit
Too dark inside drink a bit pricey £8 for pint of beer and half pint of cider.
But nice outside in the sun.
On vacation from states. Pint lager n lime 2 cans irn Bru £10.50. Crazy
We were asked to leave the outside area of this bar as we had our 8 month baby with us. He was being very quiet eating a snack, not like the other tables of 'adults'. No signs to say children were not welcome and the barman was quite condescending when telling us to leave. I could understand stand it if we had come in on a Friday or Saturday but not at 5pm on a Sunday.
