Dive Oban & Argyll

Our first weekend back on the water is 2/3rd March when we’re planning exploring around lower Lismore. It’s neap tides which will help get a good look around this current exposed area! Hopefully the wind will be calm enough to dive Lady’s Rock and around the remains of the mountaineer wreck. Spaces on all our weekends in March- get booking on folks!

For winter there is still a lot of life around #oban shores! We found this bright red male lumpsucker recently. These guys change colour during the breeding season from their normal blue/grey! The temp was holding at a very respectable 8 deg. With March fast approaching and weekend spots booking up. Make sure you get yourself booking on for spring! Last year we had a number of people talking about wanting to dive this. It's conveniently close to us but can be exposed to wind. A slack water dive, we'll plan to dive it on the best day with a 2nd dive on the breda. The other day will be choice of local sites. Otherwise if decent both days, we can dive it twice. Plan for 42m to seabed for this

1/2 Springs Diving Weekend - We'll plan to dive to dive the Thesis & Breda then depending on wind direction and speed walls/drifts around the Oban area. We can do a further trip up the SoM or Garvellachs if weather good (full surcharge and requires full boat)

Early March Weekend Diving Good tides and aim to explore the normally restricted tidal sites around Lismore & Liath Sgier area. Dives will be a mixture of slack and semi drift. One of the aims to updates some of the wreck records on Ladys Rock/Liath Sgier such as the Mountaineer.

Last floodlight dives of the winter darkness before the clocks change! Floodlight dives based on the Breda and lights illuminating the deck. Dates available to book as a group or individuals.

3 Days Exploring the Falls around neap tides. We run these special weekends when we have the best slacks to safely explore the falls. There are some amazing walls and gullys which you just can't do justice in stronger tides.
The weekend will be based on 3 dives on the falls and usually one on the Breda. Friday we are also running a stand alone day. Costs is £90 for weekend, £45 for Friday. There is also the option for the floodlight dive Saturday night.

One of wrecks we always get great visibility on! The stern section with the soft corals and topped with kelp! Really popular with the photographers!

Pic from one of our #fallsoflora trips. The tide wasn’t behaving this particular day but all of a sudden she turned slack. As the sun set the divers kitted quickly and dropped for an awesome dive! We’ve got a few dates in spring where we’re running our special weekends to dive the falls! Some with just a few spots remaining!

Interesting spot we had a look at last week. One for an exploratory look when we’re back on the water.

There are amazing walls and reefs just that little bit further out from Oban. With great visibility, covered in soft corals and rarer marine life such as crayfish and sea cucumbers! We can run this as book on trips but mainly with group charters.

Shame I missed you guys at Duikvaker 2018, I didn't know you were there, shame as an Oban born guy living in Holland it would have nice to say hello, maybe some day when I am back in town I will get to go diving with you guys.

The film presentation about the Basking shark experiences looked great online, shame i missed it at the show.

Crazy as an Oban person I've never dived the Breda, just Dunollie point and Galanach, so if I have a chance in 2018 and am over at the familie, maybe I'll finally give you guys a shout.

Keep up the good work promoting Scotland and particularly Oban ,Lorne & the western isles ;-)

Great Boat and a beautiful area of Scotland, operating out of Dunstaffnage gives lots of options to Dive Wreck, Reefs, Walls not normally visited.

Excellent and varied dive at neaps slack on the Falls of Lora, 6m vis. Deep gully with mild drift at end - swimming kept me warm in the 6.5C water.
