Went for lunch today and sorely disappointed in food, soup was cool, runny and no flavour. Quiche was ok, chips were lukewarm, pots of tea similar. We did speak to manager who apologized and would notify kitchen staff about our concerns. Good choices, access easy as well. Wouldn't say it's cheap but it is a good shop to wander around in.

You floor manager really isn't doing his job... First still had on the chalk board the soup of the day , which they didn't have.. Fizzy juice was flat. Couldn't get another drink as no clean glasses.. Waited 12mins for hot drinks.. meaning hot food was now cold.. 7mins wait at payment point as one staff member there so now have cold drinks to go with cold food.. No clean cutlery either so another wait for someone to bring some.. I was always taught treat every customer like a mystery shopper.. Only mystery here is , IS ANY OF THE STAFF TRAINED ? Terrible service from start to end..

The only thing that was edible on my plate was the macaroni. I could have broken a tooth trying to eat the vegetables as they were that solid and burnt might I add. The potatoes were chewy and quite frankly shriveled up. And the chips.. can't even call them chips! More like bricks! Definitely slipping in standards. Used to look forward to eating in Dobbies but not anymore. Absolutely vile.

Dobbies is a nice place to go for a tasty scone and nice cuppa. The outdoor garden centre is a good size with plenty of choice. As well as garden related items, there is also aquarium fish for sale, unique gifts, candles, a small selection of clothes and local food to purchase.

A lot of empty shelves when we visited on Sunday, hence the lower rating. Apart from that, a good shop to go and relax. A good fish shop inside as well.

An enjoyable place to go for a pot of tea and a scone for lunch, and a favourite spot of mine. the garden centre has an expansive variety of plants and garden equipment, pet supplies, toys, food and all kinds of things. The staff are very knowledgeable about all the plants, and manage to keep the place looking great all year round. Although sometimes, if you catch the place between seasons, the indoor offerings can seem a bit sparse.

Great place to visit plenty of gifts and plants then go up to the cafe and have a lovely meal a great menu to select from.

Good service really pleasant helpful staff. A star each for the staff at the till, I ordered 2 Christmas dinners and well. I felt so sorry for the person who sent these dinners to us. I would be the first to say I am no cook but I had to snigger at the dinners we were served. Carrots were in a shrivelled sorry state, Brussels had shrunk, Yorkshire pudding had passed long ago. Potatoes were so dry. The Turkey was cool, unfortunately the plate was warmer. My husband ate his, he ate it so fast so he didn't taste it. I don't complain about meals as I said I am not a cook myself. I fortunately don't serve food as a career.

Me and my work colleague slept in our work van so in the morning we decided to pop into dobbies garden centre cafe and for £15 we both got a breakfast and I'll tell you what that the bacon rolls were really bad and cold, they gave us one bit of bacon for one of the breakfasts, to be honest the only good part of the breakfast was the tea and the hot chocolate hence I'm giving this 2 stars. Really unpleasant experience.

Dobbies, Ethie Beaton, Dundee cafe has really gone down hill this year! Was here a few months ago and a member of staff was cleaning the dust off the pipes on the ceiling while customers were there and food was still on display and the place was really dirty! Came back today and although they are advertising afternoon tea u cant have it til after 2 although leaflet doesnt specify a time! Sandwiches were very bland tasting and again cleanliness seems to be an issue! Not impressed
