Bit of debate in Dolly’s today. Anyone recognise this local building?

As 2018 marks the centenary of the end of the First World War we are taking part in “Light up Red”, to say ‘Thank You’ to the First World War generation who served, sacrificed and changed our world forever. We have been inspired by others in the village taken part in this.

I visited today while I was waiting on my car at the garage. The tea room looks beautiful, I enjoyed my food and even more so that my little boy was occupied with the little play corner. I’ve never felt so relaxed eating out as I have today. The atmosphere was lovely and my little one enjoyed the little photo shoot and the free cakes . Thank you, would defo recommend and visit again!

User

I had my daughter's graduation afternoon tea there. The food was excellent and plenty of it. A glass of Proscecco on arrival was a nice celebration drink for the occasion. The staff were very nice and very attentive and the atmosphere was just what we wanted as we had all of the front lounge. I would recommend this venue highly.

User

Had breakfast here today and loved the vintage tea cups and plates. Food was good and the atmosphere warm and welcoming. I was very taken with the mini art gallery of photos and prints in the toilet, a small detail but always a sign that a place is loved and cared for by the owner/manager. Spoke for a few minutes with the owner who was very happy to chat and tell us a bit about the tea shop and planned renovation works. Got my eye on the comfy chairs on the bay window for my next visit.

Fabulous value for money. Beautiful old building. Lady who owns it couldn't have done enough for us. Tea room for breakfast in the morning was perfect. Cracking cup of tea! The beds in the hotel really comfy. Shower a bit useless but nice and hot. Was just no pressure. The only thing that ruined the stay was the overspill from the pub last night that screamed, shouted and generally behaved like idiots for four hours until 2am. Husband and son wrecked this morning. Please go and have a word with them as they will lose you business. We would love to come back but won't because of that reason. They have a responsibility as a licensee for the behaviour of their patrons. Thanks for all you did for us.

User

Came in today for a belated birthday lunch for my niece keira. The staff couldn’t have done anymore for us and the afternoon tea was lovely ,was that good I just booked it again for my friends birthday . Well done Amy and Richard what a difference you have made the place is lovely would recommend it to anyone .

User

Beautiful building. Staff were very friendly and courteous. Old fashioned service where we were shown to our room and the amenities were explained to us. Room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast rolls (not included in the price) were freshly made to order and delicious. We were given good local advice concerning our planned visit to the Rosslyn Chapel and castle ruins. All in all a great experience. Thanks guys.

User

Absolutely delicious! The cakes were stunning, so beautiful, really tasty, and the perfect size. Sandwiches were so so fresh and yummy. Super reasonably priced. Friendly, really accommodating staff / owners. Really worth the trip from Edinburgh!
