Amanda & Marc Thomson tied the knot here at the hotel. They were kind enough to share their experience, and offer some advice to couples looking for the perfect venue.
What made you choose the venue? The location. The view from the penthouse suite was absolutely beautiful!
... What is your favourite part of the venue and why? Our favourite part was the ceremony room because it was very intimate and the views of the new bridge are spectacular.
How were the staff on the lead up and on the day of your wedding? We could not fault the staff at all. Our wedding planner Kirstie was amazing at her job and made us feel so at ease with what we were requesting from her. The staff on the day could not have been anymore helpful than what they were.
What advice would you give to couples looking for a wedding venue? Our advice would be have a look around first of all, but we would definitely recommend the DoubleTree By Hilton Hotel as a wedding venue
What’s your favourite memory from your wedding day? We both would say marrying each other and making our relationship change from engaged to married. The love you feel for each other on that day feels so different to any other day!

Mac and cheese is definitely one of our guilty pleasures, and the team at The Shore have us hooked on their recipe! Anyone else not able to resist when they see it on the menu?

What an absolutely fantastic upgrade this hotel has had. We went last night to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary (having stayed the night of our wedding in 1998) The staff were all amazing, especially Taylor and Natlie in The Shore Grill and Fish Bar. Warm cookies on arrival, amazing views from the 6th floor, cocktails to die for followed by the most amazing porterhouse steak to share - cooked to perfection. All topped off by a fabulous breakfast in our bedroom this morning before our late checkout at 12pm. This place was truly wonderful and cant wait to visit again soon.

What a great hotel ,stunning views of the bridges, the food ,the staff, the beds, internet, all excellent.



Stayed here for almost 2 weeks on business, great craic in the bar in the evenings, excellent staff, book it you won’t regret it.



Bus stop is a 2m walk from hotel/ takes you straight to the city 30 MINUTES /train station Inverkeithing is 5 minutes away from hotel in taxi cost you 6.00 pounds.

Went here for my partners birthday, absolute smashing hotel siobhan the bar maid is a delight. The receptionist on shift Claire is amazing and Ferris the duty manager is one of a kind and was always happy to help no matter what. The above staff went above and beyond to make it a special night for us both.

We went for a the Sunday lunch yesterday for Mother's Day and it was great. We have a 2 year old and 7 month old and the staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. The food was delicious. We will definitely be back. Thank you

We stayed here lastnight to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. The hotel itself is lovely, customer service was 5*, the food was lovely and our room (king junior suite) was beautiful with a great view of the new bridge! Beds were super comfy and they had thought of everything for the bathrooms from combs, toothbrush, razor to shower gel and shampoo.



The only thing I was disappointed with was not being able to open the balcony doors of our room I’m assuming for safety reasons.



I would still definitely recommend and would love to go back.

Was there in February- great hotel will definitely be back. Rooms great, restaurant also great. Staff could not have been more helpful to me and my husband. They assisted with his walking difficulties and the chef at breakfast so attentive.

Thank you to Ferris and the team at The Shore. Our evening in private dining was superb. The care and attention by yourself and your team made it all the more special. A warm welcome set up the evening in the bar. The private dining room was beautifully decorated and arranged for our arrival with attention to detail – a lovely touch was our names being on the menu. The food was imaginative, artistically presented and super quality. Our friends are still talking about the cherry smoked fillet of beef carpaccio!! ..and the presentation!!

Stayed here on Monday night with my husband and daughter. Warm cookies on arrival went down a treat, especially with our 5 year old! The staff were friendly and helpful, and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal with fantastic views over the bridges. Food was lovely, with my husband declaring his burger was one of the best he’s ever had. We will be staying here again.

Stayed here last night with my partner in deluxe king room was amazing and so comfortable! Room was spotless too, we had breakfast included in the price and everything was delicious highly recommend �� we will definitely be back xx

Overnight stay last night..lovely hotel with great views....friendly and helpful staff...rooms are luxurious ....food is fantastic ...couldnt fault any thing about the stay....first visit but won't be the last and would definitely recommend to others

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights this week on a sort of baby moon for a chance to relax and chillout before our baby is born in August. The service from all staff was second to none and they couldn't do enough for us. We left feeling revived and happy so thank you so much for spoiling us and we will 100% be back.

Also - the renovation is beautiful and to a very high standard and the views are spectacular !

I won a competition to stay 1 night with a 3 course meal and a breakfast for me and my parter. We had a fab stay the staff were so friendly. The cookies what you get at the check in were so nice and the breakfast was lush and the rooms, beds makes you so comfy. Thanks again

I got married here in October 2017 and it was absolutely amazing. The while day was perfect from start to finish. Me and my husband loved it the room was stunning too. The staff are very friendly and attentive and my day couldn't of been better. Will defo be back for our 1 year anniversary meal here in your shore restaurant xxxxxx

Half way through a 4 night work visit and so far cannot fault this hotel. It is modern, spotlessly clean, wonderful food and drink and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The gym is great too, nice temperature and complementary water etc. The rooms are big and comfortable with good facilities - recommended

Had steak dinner here and the food was outstanding. Up there with all the bst steak restaurants in Edinburgh! we were very well looked by attentive staff. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. A special mention to the manager who took us on a tour guide when we asked about the beautiful views, lovely guy. I highly recommend this and I will definitely be back. Everyone one was outstanding and so helpful. The food was exceptional.

Had a fab time at Knockhill at the weekend and stayed at this hotel couldn’t fault it , comfy beds , very clean and staff very polite and helpful and excellent food in the restaurant best fish and chips

From the moment we arrived the staff were wonderful, welcoming, informative & efficient. The hotel is beautiful, room spacious, well decorated and very comfortable. Evening meal choice was super and delicious, as was breakfast. Would recommend and looking for an excuse to stay there again!

Absolutely amazing venue! We got married here on 12th May 2018 and could not have faulted anything! Chloe is amazing and was there every step of the way. Jodie who was in charge on our wedding day was ace and keeped me calm!!! Best place ever!!

Nice hotel and good view of the new bridge.... but beware of the warm chocolate chip biscuit they give you when you check in. Mine fell out of the bag going to my room trying to hold it with my suitcase and bag and I ended up with melted chocolate all over my suit! jacket and trousers 🙁 Not a good start to my stay
