Where to start?

We had our wedding on Thursday the 2nd August and it was amazing Fiona beforehand and after was excellent, always having time for us and checking in on us even when booking 3 and a half years in advance, we had regular communication. Nothing was ever too much trouble.

Dean and his team on the day were exceptional, I can’t thank them enough and really are a credit to the hotel.

Hannah at Reception was just lovely and made us feel extra special.

We can’t thank your team enough and our guests were commenting on how smooth and great the staff were.

Thank you.

User

We just had a lovely stay at Westerwood Hotel for my daughters family ‘ hen do ‘ We had a lovely time with excellent facilities but the real stars were the staff . They couldn’t have been more helpful from reception , masseuse , restaurant to the domestics . They managed to cope with my eldest daughters severe food allergies, without making her uncomfortable, but most importantly -keeping her safe ! . Will be delighted to return in the future .

User

We had a fab time for our friend Amandas 30th birthday celebration. The treatment I had was amazing and the spa facilities were spotless. We had afternoon tea when we arrived and a lovely dinner in the evening. I had a great sleep in our warm and cosy room and enjoyed breakfast the next morning, although the breakfast service staff could have been a bit more cheery and helpful. When I complained that my pot of tea was cold when I was given it the waiter said 'Are you sure?'

Not the answer that should have been given!

All the other staff couldn't do enough for us throughout our stay, excellent hospitality. I am looking forward to our next visit already!

User

My mum and I had a lovely spa break the staff were very efficient we would particularly thank Taylor on reception who exceeded our expectations, I was parking the car and dropped Mum off as she can’t walk far, Mum went to reception and Taylor took one look at her and said oh the room you have been allocated it quite far away, I am going to see if I can get you moved, she moved us to room 103, we didn’t even ask her to do this and it was very appreciated. All the reception staff were lovely and very pleasant. I would also like to thank James from the grill restaurant who was very pleasant and helpful throughout our dinner. We will definitely be back. The hotel is in a lovely setting with lovely views also.

Thank you all

My friend and I visited The Spa last week for the Afternoon Tea/Spa Treatments Package. Upon arrival we were given our robes and slippers we felt like VIP’s!!

We made our way to the pool area first and enjoyed using the Jacuzzi, Sauna and Steam Room. All areas were spotlessly clean.

We then went on to have our Afternoon Tea served by a lovely, friendly woman called Eileen. The Afternoon Tea had a selection of wraps, sandwiches and cakes. A varied selection from tuna to cheese & ham. The scones with cream and jam were delicious as was the rest of our lunch.

From here we made our way to the Relaxation Room OMG Heavenly!!! By far the most relaxing place I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting!!

My friend had a fantastic back massage and I had a relaxing manicure with Caroline who was bubbly as well as professional.

In all we had a FANTASTIC day, we’ve already booked our next visit!!

10/10 guys. Highly recommended xx

User

Made a last minute appointment for back neck

And shoulder massage. Was shown to relaxation area which was so tranquil and calming then my therapist came for me. Shown to Skye room, also quiet, lovely and camlimg. Relieved massage from Emma which was amazing. Had a lot of tension in my neck and shoulders and felt so relaxed and rejuvenated after it. Will definitely return and recommend the spa and facilities to friends and family. 5 stars from me

User

Just had a lovely, relaxing overnight dinner bed and breakfast deal for £99. Everything was perfect. The hotel/rooms were clean and comfortable and ALL the staff were polite, courteous and helpful. The food was excellent with a range of choices and large portions. My friend and I had an enjoyable afternoon in the spa followed by cocktails while our husbands played golf. EXCELLENT value for money.

User

Just back from a lovely stay on Sunday through to Monday. There were 14 of us in total. We enjoyed the most relaxing spa day, afternoon tea, canapés with cocktails, a delicious meal along with bed and breakfast. Every member of staff we came into contact with were so lovely and helpful and really couldn't do enough for you. I am already planning when I can come again. Thank you for the most enjoyable time.

User

Had a spa overnight stay on the 14/07/18. We were greeted in a lovely manner. We went for afternoon tea first then went to the pool for a while. Our treatment was fantastic! I left feeling so much better and relaxed. The lady that done my massage was excellent. I have to say hats off to your chef. My evening meal was one of the best I’ve tasted. It was beef. The chef made me some red wine sauce as the peppercorn was so spicy for me. It was amazing! The room was great! Breakfast was brilliant! Definitely be booking this again. Thank you x

User

Great time had by all our party of 7 women full body massage by linda was fantastic she was very professional had been before with my sister & our husbands & enjoyed it very much due to upgrade for my brother in laws birthday staff are so helpful & willing to please great variety of food and buffet breakfast to suit all booking our next visit for christmas party night so looking forward to that

User

Couldn’t fault our overnight spa break, fantastic value for money. Lovely pool facilities, the afternoon tea-style lunch was a nice surprise, beautifully served, tasted delicious and a refreshing mocktail too. Our treatments were amazing, I can thoroughly recommend the salt & oil exfoliating scrub, and the relaxation room afterwards is just heaven! Bedroom lovely and clean, a good size, and a separate shower cubicle rather than over the bath was great, very powerful too. Evening meal lovely, £28 pp included and you could certainly get a 3-course dinner for that, although we weren’t that hungry so splashed out on steaks instead, which were cooked to perfection. Hotel very quiet at night, though it was a Sunday night, beds very comfy, and great buffet breakfast serving everything you could think of. And all staff very friendly. We will definitely return!

User

Been to the Westerwood several times now, love the place! Have to give it 5 stars, few little things disappointing but won’t knock any stars off.

Afternoon tea in The Grill Room although pleasant was the smallest afternoon tea I’ve ever had, my cousin had to request more sandwiches.

You advertise a ‘drumstick cocktail’ with an amazing picture so I was very disappointed to be charged £8.50 for something that didn’t resemble the picture in any way, shape or form (I have a picture of the one I received should you wish to see it)

The excuse given was they had run out of drumsticks and the jam jars were behind the bar dirty! Really not acceptable. The barman gave me 20% off when I complained about it, again not really acceptable.

The room we got was fantastic apart from the clump of hair accumulated on the floor at the side of the bed (I also have a picture of this) pretty disgusting actually.

All in all it won’t put me off coming back, the staff are lovely and very helpful, the food is delicious and it’s very relaxing.

User

Me and my husband went for an over night stay last week staff were brilliant spa amazing and our treatments were great only down fell was the food. Personally wasn't our taste. Also manager at the restaurant took one of the staff aside and I'm not sure what was said but this girl was I years I felt so angry kept thinking if that was my child. She coykdhave taken her to a private room away from dners but she didn't she him her to the glass room at the back right where we were sitting so we seen everything

User

Hotel was great, food was good and staff very friendly and helpful. Would have given a 5 rating if it wasn't for the extortionate price for 1 glass of wine £9 for rose...bottle was £25. Nothing special about the wine which can be bought retail for £7...less buying wholesale. Mark up of over 300%. Recommend but avoid buying wine. Understand business needs to make money but wine very overpriced. Disappointed...

User

Had a lovely spa day with afternoon tea yesterday with my mum and sister. We had a lovely day and the therapists in the spa were fab, my massage from Samantha was excellent and I knew both my Mum and sister also enjoyed their treatments.

Facilities are lovely and we spent a good amount of time round the pool and in the jacuzzi.

Only down fall was the afternoon tea, I’m lactose intolerant and told the server, and was giving flat bread with dips which weren’t very nice and the flat bread was stale, and a bowl of fruit, when all I wanted was a Ham sandwich with no butter!! Thank god we ordered extra chips to fill me up.

That said overall it was a lovely day and look forward to returning x

User

Very average to be honest. Nothing in particular wrong here just the fact their prices are the same as a lot of places offering more and better quality which means they struggle to meet expectation. Bring down prices or increase quality (especially food) as value for money here isn't good. I'd recommend as somewhere 'decent' for as a lodging place, but not quite enough for us as a treat

User

Although this hotel is dated looking the Superior Room and Double Room was clean and beds comfortable.

Reception was very welcoming.

Downstairs Lounge staff were very polite and friendly.

Breakfast was good and again service was good.

Two complaints tho...

1) Upstairs staff / Restaurant (Grillroom)

Round of drink prices differ from lounge to upstairs grill and when challenged the staff advised they should both be the same and were actually extremely arrogant, unhelpful and were unable to satisfactory explain the difference for exact the same round of drinks being over £7 of a difference!!

They advised prices shouldn’t vary from one bar to the other in the hotel! They also refused to accept that we had paid £7 less for the same drinks in the downstairs lounge.... to the point that it was embarrassing and extremely rude. The error was clearly the hotels however they refused to accept this.

2) finally when advising we were celebrating a 39th wedding anniversary (which is a fantastic achievement) no one actually congratulated our Sister and Brother-in-Law, not even an offer of a complimentary glass of something, most hotels welcome people for their special occasions, not this one though.

So if you have a special occasion to celebrate, I suggest you go elsewhere.

User

It’s definitely not 4 star. Booked for an overnight stay. Room was lovely. Reception was nice. Had a bit of a trek to the room as one of the lifts weren’t working. Went to go swimming and had to wait 10 mins as the pool was full of kids and swimming lessons. Think the swimming lessons should be held on a Sunday morning especially with check in at 3pm. Got in the pool and all the heated chairs and most of the sun loungers were full. Jacuzzi was ok, a bit small. Didn’t go in the pool as it would have felt like the time capsule. Hardly any of the lockers were working, the spinner for drying ur costume was out of order. Didn’t last half an hour. Heard leisure club members complaining about the same things and most people who came in left early. Went for a drink at the bar and there was no gin glasses and only salted crisps. Booked a table for a meal at & 8pm. My meal was nice but my husbands steak pie and 5 pieces of steak and loads of gravy. He was hunting for it under the pie lid. Heard another guest complain about the lack of steak to which the reply was I’ll mention it to the chef. Husband ordered a lager and got a lager shandy. My dessert was nice but not enough of it. Over priced for what you got. Went to the residents bar for a drink and my husband still hungry from his mini meal wanted crisps and they didn’t have any at all but they did have gin glasses ?!!. Kids and parents chasing each other in the bar at 11pm with the door to the patio being opened and not closed every 2 mins. Advertised as a spa and golf resort with 4 stars more like kids holiday park run by kids managed by kids 3 star at a push. Not relaxing, not enjoyable and definitely NOT worth the money. Won’t be back!!

User

Group of 3 played the golf course yesterday.

The course was in a terrible condition, greens were terrible, patches that were bare, some holes were cored and others were in need of cutting. Some under repair.

Very wet underfoot in places.

Some areas untidy.

Just poorly kept.

Just glad we never paid full price.

Dont think we will be back.

All the other staff couldn't do enough for us throughout our stay, excellent hospitality. I am looking forward to our next visit already!

Thank you x
