Hi all! Exciting news...we are introducing a new format for our specials from Friday-Sunday! As you all know...our special has always been a bit of a surprise...we only reveal it between 9-11 every day. Many of you have expressed that you would like to know prior so you can plan a visit. Starting this weekend, coinciding with the launch of our external food truck we are going to run a series of specials over the weekend from the truck that will stay the same! . . It’s obvio...usly a massive weekend ahead, with the #portedgaropenweekend in conjunction with @roguevillage Canteen street food festival! Went last Sunday for the first time, loved it! Great hungover cure and food was delicious. � Enjoyed the ‘on holiday’ feel and the staff were very attentive especially the lady seating everyone. Warm and welcoming place-good with kids too. We will be back x

Went down for a full breakfast this morning....Amazing! It's the best cooked breakfast I've had in a long time. Everything was cooked to perfection!

Looking forward to go back to try some of the lunch options and milk shake!

We live in East Lothian so don’t frequent often, Love the place. Brought my hubby and kids (again) along with my folks this time for Father’s Day treat and my dad absolutely loved it...as did my mum!

Great place to go, super family friendly, amazing food! Can’t wait to visit again.

This place never disappoints! I love the philly cheese-steak. The last time I was there they didn't have any left � however I ended up going for the special that day - which was the jammy black n blue burger and again was not disappointed!



Unfortunately my martial arts class is in the scout Hall across the road... Must resist temptation everytime! ��

This fantastic place was recommended to me by a friend and all I can say is can't believe she kept it a secret for so long!! This place is absolutely amazing, the food is out of this world and the service is super friendly and I will definitely be back soon.

Lunch capable of a high end city centre restaurant menu without the inflated prices and parking issues!



We popped in here this afternoon for lunch with 2 of our children. The restaurant is very tastefuly decorated with food and the sea being the theme in the marina of Port Edgar.



I had the special which today was - The Chairman Mow - Red braised pork belly, Asian slaw, white miso mayo, crispy seaweed , cashew dust and I can say it was just as delicious as it sounds. It come with fries that were also very nice and perfectly seasoned. The kids had their Chicken Quesadilla, again with fries and for a 4 and 5 year old the portions were more than ample and would certainly have satisfied our 10 year old, although credit to the chef, they loved it and demolished the lot. Food comes served in baskets which is a lovely touch.



The coffee was very nice too and served in lovely mugs. I think but can't say for sure that it's locally sourced coffee.



The staff were lovely and friendly and always on top of turn around, welcoming everyone into the restaurant and thanking them upon leaving too.



We will certainly be back and I look forward to trying the breakfast next time.

Just had Poutine for the first time. It was amazing. I do not know how I have gone so long without knowing of such a thing. The wife had a breakfast roll and got food envy so I let her have some. She loved it as well. See you next Sunday!!!!!

I’ve now been several times. The food is always top notch but the service, the service is fooooking awesome! I dropped £10 last time I was in, they kept it, remembered me and handed it back to me. How amazing it that! You guys rock and the food is brilliant. ���

Iv been coming here for the last 3 weeks every Friday with my work mates and will be coming back every Friday as from now I get something different every week and the food has been amazing and really recommend it to anybody and the service is excellent thanks.

I've been wanting to come here for a while now after seeing all the positive reviews. I arrived shortly after 10am so I decided to have the Scottish Breakfast. It was delicious and the staff were really friendly. I'll make a point of going There for lunch really soon. Highly recommended �

I love this place. Food is amazing and I like the casual atmosphere. I also like that they welcome dogs in here. I think they may have to extend their premises, as more people hear about the place.

Down the Hatch is a must visit, for breakfast (served in a skillet) to lunch or early dinner. If you like North American (includes Canadian) food, served and done the right way, with plenty of taste and flavour, then visit Down the Hatch and you will not leave hungry or disappointed. Daily specials too, so keep watching their pics, and follow them on FB/Instagram etc. We have had cousins visit from Canada, and they rate the poutine, as one of the best going anywhere.

Came here on a whim and have literally just finished the classic cheese burger and fries, it was sloppy, sauce was dripping everywhere and stuff sliding all over the place, needed 10 napkins, it was hands down best burger I’ve had! It was a taste sensation! Trust your sat nav, we thought it was taking us into the water and it just appears lol. Can’t wait to come back again! Gold mine of a place!

Breakfast today; I had the Mexican served on a hot skillet - it was fantastic. Service is quick and friendly; have no hesitation in recommending Down the Hatch!

Great poutine and my other half had poutine and philly cheese steak and said it was good too. We visited on a Sunday around 130pm and had to wait a few mins for a table to become free. The special that day was nachos but by the time we got there it was sold out so I was a bit disappointed as that’s what had drawn us to go, never mind, I’ll just need to revisit another time but earlier in the day �
