Hi guys and girls. Pauline here. Over the past week there has been the obvious stuff in the media about Caroline Flack 😔 and the lack of support for people with mental health problems. I am not medically trained but have struggled myself in the past with depression anxiety and ptsd. Just wanted to say if you feel low or need someone to chat to we are here. Quite often people don't know how to start a conversation about how they are feeling because quite simply they are not sure or don't know where to start. Testing the water regularly is a very important part of fish health. Want to learn more? Learn about the nitrogen cycle, it gives you a better understanding of how things work. Nitrogen Cycle is a process where beneficial bacteria becomes established in your tank and filter media, allowing ammonia (toxic) to convert to nitrite (toxic), then nitrite to nitrates (non-toxic). That's why it's so important. There is videos on you tube that are good at explaining this process if yo...u want to learn more 🐠 Also, a lot of people make the common mistake of cleaning their filter in tap water when doing a water change, this is wrong! It takes away all of the good bacteria. You should ALWAYS clean your filter in the water you take out the tank when doing a water change. There's a lot of good information out there, I myself have learned a lot recently because Matthew said I had to learn more, I'll also be doing a course soon to learn more about fish health. Its a lot more interesting than I thought 😊 Pauline 🐠 🥰
