Christmas and New Year (I know I am sorry to mention it so soon but lots of people have been asking)
We now have our packages for the festive period. We hope you can come and join us. I am very excited to have a whole forest to decorate and not just a house!
23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th December - £1300
... We have been in contact with Santa and he is going to make a special detour to come to Dreamcatcher Cabins. You will each have a Christmas stocking to put out for his arrival and he will deliver your gifts. You will have your own sparkling Christmas tree and the forest will be decorated and awaiting your arrival. Inside your cabin will have subtle decorations and there will be a hamper of Christmas goodies for you to enjoy over the festivities. If you are looking for a totally private, secluded and relaxed Christmas then please come and join us.
27th, 28th, 29th December - £980
Indulge in some quiet time between Christmas and New Year at Dreamcatchers. Enjoy a hamper of goodies, relax, recover and build up your energy for the New Year celebrations! Sit at the wood burning stove and reflect on a year past and the year to come with your loved one, in total peace and solitude.
30th, 31st, 1st, 2nd January - £1300
Gear up for the New Year celebrations. We include a ticket to a local New Year Event either in Gartmore Village Hall or Aberfoyle Village Hall - both a 20 minute walk from your cabin. Take time to enjoy your New Year hamper while relaxing at the fire or in the bath - maybe both! We are looking forward to welcoming you.

Strange Wildlife Sightings
We have observed 2 strange wildlife events here at Dreamcatchers over the last couple of days. After much rustling from under leaves appeared a mole which Harry manage to capture in this photo! Why is he not underground?
The second sighting was this morning - a Pine Martin (which I did not manage to capture on my camera). Why is he not asleep? Both were beautiful and a real pleasure to see around the cabins.
... We have completed The Badger's Sett, so the photos will be coming soon. It was the usual frantic rush but it is done! Just the Jay's Nest to go.

The Swallows Move In Not Out!
Yesterday I was having my breakfast thinking "these swallows are so loud they could be in the house".
After a few minutes I got up to have a look and sitting in the lounge was indeed one of our swallows. Around it was a scene of carnage with broken glass, a broken chess piece and enough droppings to signify it had been in for a considerable amount of time.
... It is not unusual for the swallows to come in, fly round the kitchen and leave again when the door is open, but it is usually when they are looking for a nesting site. This one had obviously lost its way during the kitchen inspection.
There are a group of 3 who fly around and swoop at the pond for water and flies. When I caught the little guy and took him to the front door to release him I could not believe it - his 2 pals were waiting, swooping and making a din. It was the most beautiful sight. He flew up to them and they swooped and circled and then flew off together, leaving me with a tear in my eye. I had no idea that birds would take care of each other like that.

The Fox's Den
We have the photos of the Fox's Den. I hope you like them as much as we do. Ashley Coombes Photography took them. Ash takes stunning photos as you can see on his website. The first guests have left the Fox's Den and loved it. We are again relieved and delighted.

We’re just home from Dreamcatcher Cabins. Had a great stay. Fiona provides a lovely cool box of goodies, the home made jam was amazing. The wood burning stove really heats up the outdoor area, so cozy while we were enjoying our wine. I would highly recommend a stay here, you won’t be disappointed. Very nice to meet you both x

Very unique place to stay. Very cosy and relaxing

User

Very special place and had an amazing stay, everything you need and finished to an amazing standard, and no bugs only downside we had to leave but will definitely be returning.

User

Loved our stay here! A very different kind of experience with most of the time being spent outside. Arriving to a cool box full of some essentials including yummy home made jam and bread made a really nice touch. The outside bath was so peaceful and when it got darker the fairy lights came on. The bed was very comfy! Only thing I would change was how bright it got early morning as there was no blind on the velux window it was very secluded and appart from seeing a couple through the trees walking up the path we didnt see anyone

Just home from a two night stay in the Red Squirrel Cabin. WOW! What a luxurious, romantic and peaceful break in the wilderness. Aptly named also as we often seen the red squirrel flying about the trees :)

Upon arriving at the cabins (little issue with sat nav wanting to take us elsewhere but Fiona was at hand to help us out) we were met by Brian and settled in. Great breakfast hamper of goodies supplemented by our haul from The Smiddy Farm Shop (highly recommend for supplies and their denver steak) and we were set for the weekend.

The cabin is trying to be as eco friendly as possible and runs on solar energy, so no electrcity sockets. After an intial shock to the system it was phones off and we enjoyed it all the more..even learned how to play a few games from the stash under the bed :) Only downside would like a mirror in the bathroom as my partner couldn't shave the whole weekend (a first that it wasn't the woman complaining of no mirror ;p). Loved the outside space and we took a disposable bbq to cook on. The living area is well thought out and the fire keeps everything warm when the sun goes down with touches of tartan throughout as a reminder to its scottish roots.

We had a stroll along to Aberfoyle on the bike path (well signposted and very flat) and had lunch and a few aperitifs in the sunshine at The Fourth Inn (highly recommended by Fiona in the cabin guide and cannot agree more! Great scottish beers also!)

Sad to leave after two nights and already thinking about our next break to the woods.

If your looking to get away from it all, recharge the batteries and spend some quality time together - this is where you need to be! Wilderness with a touch of luxury :)

Just back from a two night stay with my Husband in the red squirel cabin and I would totally recommend this place to anyone as it is idylic! A complete woodland paradise -so romanitc, peaceful and beautiful. The log burning stove and the outdoor bath were definitely a hit! Brian and Fiona have done an amazing job of buliding the cabins - a lot of hardwork I imagine but 100% worth it in our eyes! We will be back. Thank you for letting us stay we had an amazing break celebrating our first wedding anniversary!

User

Brian and Fiona's hospitality is endless and truly genuine. As a frequent visitor to their home, I have always been made to feel welcome, comfortable and cared for. The Dreamcatcher Cabins were a vision that they materialised through love and hardwork. Anyone lucky enough to experience their magic will undoubtedly be left spellbound and filled with unforgettable memories of such a unique and down-to-earth escape to the wilderness.
