Drug and Alcohol Training and Consultancy (DATAC) Services specialises in the field of drugs and alcohol in the workplace. It provides a consultancy service for employers and companies, including advice and information and the development and implementation of workplace substance misuse policies. It also offers a wide range of drug and alcohol awareness training courses for managers and employees. DATAC Services was set up by Les Johnston following his retiral from Grampian Police after 30 years service. For the last 6 years of his service he was the Force Drugs Co-ordinator, tasked with a force wide responsibility for all non-enforcement drugs issues, including drug and alcohol awareness /education. Throughout his police service, and particularly while in his capacity as Force Drugs Co-ordinator, he has developed considerable experience, knowledge and expertise in matters around drug and alcohol misuse and considered it appropriate, on leaving the police service, to use that experience, knowledge and expertise for the benefit of others. All training or consultancy provided by Les is therefore based on extensive experience ranging from front-line contact with drug and alcohol users through to dealing with strategy and policy issues.
