Good day out the gardens are fantastic, loved the outdoor wildlife garden. The castle was pretty good, however was a bit annoyed that they had painted one of the floors white to display modern photographs in a gallery and felt it took away from the natural history of the property.

One of the best castle we visited in Scotland. It's not too big, but very old (oldest parts 700 years old), the stuff is very nice and helpful. Great guided tour. The garden is worth a visit as well.

Fantastic day out. Loved the tour and the chance to walk the gardens. Trip to top of the original tower a must.

What a beautiful castle, the tea room was under renovation, you could still buy cakes and coffee, but they also have lots of picnic tables and bring your own picnic. Gardens are also beautiful.nice back drop for wedding photos

A lovely castle, with beautiful rooms in great condition and richly furnished. The guides in each room are very knowledgeable and friendly. They're happy to talk to you for hours, I suspect, but also happy to let you wander on your own if you're in a hurry. I got a dose of history in the living room, and then skipped the rest due to time. The Library is particularly impressive, but also the nursery. Then you go outside and up into the original tower, which is above the library - quite an amazing sense of history here, in a castle that was continuously occupied by one family for 600 years. The surrounds are beautiful, as is the little chapel. The staff were talking about very tangible experiences of a ghost or ghosts!

We came when the castle was closed (just after new years), but still had a walk around. It's not the most grand of places - I am not sure why it is called a castle or what classifies a castle, but if you expect one of those places from tales - it won't be. It is a larger house and has beautiful gardens. I assume it would be a good place if you have kids as there is a playground as well.

Very nice well preserved Scottish Castle. The tower is still in a very original feeling state and you can even climb to the roof!

Great children's play area with lots of things to do. Also good for a walk round the estate.
