To create a wall, garden feature, bench, pizza oven, sculpture or even a house out of only stone is a dying art. I grew up in farming and marveled at the intricate skilled work of the drystone wallers (or drystane dykers as they are known in Scotalnd) . The vision, the patience, the eye for detail and the perfection.
Creating a structure or object that is beautiful, practical and will last lifetimes over is a fascinating process.
