We booked this for our post Christmas night away.



When we arrived we were met with a pleasant and friendly welcome. We then went to our room which was so lovely. It had a homely feel with minimalistic look. The only issue i had which is my own personal preference is that the mattress was firmer than i prefer but this did not affect how much i enjoyed our stay.



We had coffee and cake in Bobby's which was amazing (I highly recommend the large strawberry tarts), a wee walk to see the beautiful views and dinner in the restaurant at night which was also fabulous.

The Duck Bay restaurant is a great place to eat with a great view over the Loch, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the food is excellent and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend them.

Thank you Duck Bay for a fabulous weekend . For a family weekend away 6 of us took advantage of your special offer and it was certainly special. The hotel itself was stunning and furniture was high standard and immaculate. What a fabulous view. We enjoyed numerous culinary delights in Bobbys coffee lounge and the restaurant. The portion size was overly generous. The staff team were very attentive. Thanks and well done. Can't wait to visit your latest Cawley hotel in Falkirk which I am sure will have the same very high standards.

Stayed here for overnight last night wth my fiance dbb deal was such good relaxing night food was amazing n staff couldn't do anymore they were so kind happy and helpful I will defo be back would consider bigger room tho our room was pretty small n basic but still nice n lovely view I would recommend thanku duckbay пҝҪ

Stayed here for a birthday/Xmas treat, lucky enough to stay in the Robert Burns suite, great views over the Loch from the decking. The food was excellent both for lunch and dinner, the staff were polite, attentive and gave us excellent service, will definitely be back and will bring the kids next time.

I havenвҖҷt been here in a while, despite living locally, & was being treated to a much needed coffee & cake. ItвҖҷs the first time I have been in the new cafe area, & itвҖҷs stunning!! Friendly service, as always. I was with my parents, brother & my two year old twins & was made to feel very welcome. Cakes were delicious & the atmosphere is very cosy, especially on a cold day like today. Will definitely be back!

Duck bay is our all time favourite place to dine , with breathtaken views and excellent food we find ourselves dining there quite often and staff are very attentive and friendly

Sandwich lunch at coffee shop. Sandwiches and cakes were lovely and fresh, served by very friendly and efficient staff. Pot of tea for 2 was so small we had to ask for it to be filled 3 times.

Just home after a night away. Lovely hotel food was fantastic. But must say staff in bar an Restaurant need to learn a bit of customer service. An to smile would have bn nice.girls on reception&breakfast this mornin were lovely. Shame the men serving yesterday&last night let it down....

I think the venue and the location has always been amazing but the food was disappointing and definitely not value for money esp with a family . waited a while for food , the steak at ВЈ19 was sent back , tiny and full of fat , fajita tiny and desserts were expensive ВЈ7-50 ! ThereвҖҷs so many other places to eat but wonвҖҷt be back , sorry пҝҪ

вҖңAll fur coat & no knickersвҖқ is how I would describe Duck Bay. Meaning, it looks very nice and high quality but there is little in the experience to substantiate the initial impression. Hotel room was OK but, given that there is no air conditioning and the unusually high temperatures, no alternative cooling option (fan) was available. Opening the patio dorr is not advisable because of the problem with midges.

The restaurant service was hopeless. We waited a long time for a waiter and he was unable to describe the dishes. The restaurant manager then came over and he could only guess at the вҖңtrio of fishвҖқ dish,! Our starters were acceptable but could not understand why haggis would be served with paprika! It took more than 15 minutes to clear the plates. Main courses were вҖҳunderwhelmingвҖҷ; fish dish was severely over cooked and stroganoff was bland! At no time did a waiter come and enquire about our food or satisfaction, consequently we had no option to comment during the meal. We found that the waiters were surly and not focussed on us as customers.

Breakfast was a similar disappointment to dinner. The bacon had probably been cooked more than an hour before we arrived so was leathery & tough. One of the two sausages was, I believe, reheated from an earlier serving, it being dry and tough whilst the second was moist & palatable! Again the waiter was less than friendly and had to be reminded to provide milk for tea & butter for toast.

Finally, when checking-out, the receptionist did not enquire about our satisfaction with the stay - quite remarkable.

Establishment is in dire need of customer-focussed training for all staff.

If the desire is to have a quality establishment the reflects the glorious surroundings, this is an absolute priority.

Not is a hurry to repeat our experience

With the weather being so nice we decided to take an impromptu trip down to Loch Lomond for dinner. Originally we were going to go to Cameron House or the Carrick but we decided that we hadnвҖҷt been to Duck Bay in several years so decided to go there instead.



Upon arriving I asked if we could sit outside for dinner. Unfortunately, thatвҖҷs against policy, which is absolutely fine. But the young colleague then tried to sit us at a table far away from the view in the middle of the restaurant. I asked if we could sit at the window as there were a few empty tables (and we came here for the view), with a bit of humming and hawing we were allowed.



Drinks order taken and served quickly as was our food order. Some complimentary Melba toast which was a nice touch was served.



We ordered вҖҳspeedy gonzalezвҖҷ chicken, a seafood lasagne and kids fish and chips.



The chicken meal was edible. ВЈ16.95 and edible! If IвҖҷm paying ВЈ16.95 for a meal I want it to be sensational. This was a seasoned (with 5 spice or something of sorts) chicken breast. A scraping of watery вҖҳpeppercornвҖҷ sauce and some over cooked white rice. Which either was also seasoned or may just have been mixed with the sauce which really was odd tasting.



The seafood lasagne was ok but my mum stated was no better than one picked up from Aldi!



The kids ice cream was the only thing worth itвҖҷs price tag!



When we received the bill of nearly ВЈ60 I felt the need to ask the member of staff to alert the kitchen to the fact the food was poor. She was apologetic and summoned the supervisor to discuss further with me. IвҖҷm unsure if the supervisors name but he was pretty awkward. He too apologised about the standard of food, asked if everything else was ok to which I explained it was all merely edible but not worth the money and I could have made better at home. He stood about for a further minute, then awkwardly left. No customer service skills at all.



Will I be back to Duck Bay? I donвҖҷt think so. This place has the potential to be perfect but requires a lot of work.

Beautiful views and food tasted delicious, however it would have been perfect if I hadnвҖҷt found string in my meal. Shame you canвҖҷt upload photos to reviews as it was disgusting and is visible in photo! I ordered the Malaysian crepe and a dark grey string (similar to string used to tie up raw meat) was cooked through my crepe. Such a shame as I always loved eating here with family.

Absolutely stunning set views are spectacular over loch lomond friendly staff. The issue we had were with the food the portions were small. The steak ordered medium rare came medium well it was taken back and replaced again it came sligh improvement but not as we ordered very disappointing especially when you choose such a high valued restaurant.

I called in dead on Lunchtime to have a drink then decide on some food, it wasnвҖҷt particularly busy but the bar staff were so uninterested it was unbelievable. One did say iвҖҷll be with you in 2 moments then decided to blank me for the next 5 minutes so i walked out and went to the boatyard instead. I obviously didnвҖҷt look like a big enough tipper to be afforded some service. IвҖҷll never set foot there again.

Had such a dissapointing Sunday roast here today пҝҪ beef was very hard to cut with a lot of fat on it , roast potatoes where not crispy and fresh they were soggy the veg was poor too felt like I had been all reheated пҝҪvery dissapointing wouldnвҖҷt rush to eat again ..

First off we arrived thinking how nice it would be to sit outside in such amazing weather however were advised we could not have food outside. Service was really slow after our drinks arrived and when our dinner arrived my rice had a huge hair stuck right through the middle of it and sticking out the top! No idea how the waiter never seen this when bringing to the table, waited for a new meal by which time my family had nearly finished. The waitress that took my plate when I pointed out the hair didn't even apologise. We then ordered 2 "luxury milkshakes" one was meant to be Oreo and one Jaffa cake but both had Jaffa cake in them. When the bill arrived at ВЈ60 I was really surprised they hadn't done anything for our experience with any discount etc. The stroganoff was bland and at ВЈ16 felt this was a huge let down. Overall after looking forward to our trip down feel really let down with our experience and customer service definitely isn't a strong point here. Will not be back!
