Here is melody and chordal demonstration for "Somewhere over the Rainbow'
Both the music and the chords are attached below the video alongside the backing for students to play along with.
It would be great to get some students playing along next Thursday and be sure to record a little video so we can share from our page!

Part 6 of our theory work is now on our vimeo channel and will be uploaded to our website later today alongside answers.
In this video we look at the key of Cmajor and the tonic triad belonging to the Cmajor scale.
Again this is all important stuff so work through the material and double check your work alongside the answers online which we will post shortly.

Next Thursday 30th April at 8pm musicians across Scotland the UK and beyond have been asked to perform 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow' as a mark of support and thanks to our NHS and key frontline workers.
Dunbartonshire School of Guitar will be uploading tutorial videos so our students can learn to play at home. These videos will be up by the end of the week. These videos will cover the easier arrangements so everyone can have a go!
Tutorials will be up towards the end of the we...ek but parts can be downloaded from the following link!
Everyone should get involved!

A new note reading lesson has been uploaded to each of the classes.
This features 2 new notes G and A - this work makes for a good challenge using all 8 notes that we have learned and should with a little work be able to sightread with.

With it being Easter Monday yesterday we didnвҖҷt post chapter 4 of our music theory course but it is now up online.
The video covers bars, bar lines and time signatures. As always answers are uploaded underneath for students to check their work against.
We will be back to 2 videos a week next week as we continue to work our way through our grade 1 theory book.

Part 3 of our music theory videos covering note values and rests has now been uploaded.
Over the holiday period we will only be adding 1 video per week as we are sure everyone will wish to relax for a bit in this crazy time.
We do however feel it is important to keep some continuity with the course so students don't lose interest. This weeks video has lots of very important content. Student should take their time getting familiar with note value names and rests and try to ful...ly grasp the information covered.

We have also uploaded a little Coldplay song 'Don't Panic' from their first album Parachutes. This adds the chord Dm and is a great song that is super fun to play! It has also been added to appropriate groups on our website!

A Little lesson and piece for the fingerpickers, a nice classical study that works on holding bass notes down underneath the melody while using alternate I M I M fingers of our right hand to play the upper melodies.
This is a fairly straightforward challenge but a great workout for improving these areas none the less and well worth working through!
