We are excited to announce that we are now able to offer endoscopy as part of our diagnosis package. Endoscopy is used to image the inside of the stomach and upper small intestine in a non invasive manner. It is especially useful for inspection and removal of gastric foreign bodies and for taking biopsies from the stomach wall or duodenum, for example in cases of inflammatory bowel disease. Please see the attached video, which demonstrates us removing a foreign object from a dog's stomach with our new scope.

User

Recall is one of thee most important things to teach our dogs. You just never know when you need to call your dog back in an emergency. Here’s Lorraine’s 8 month old cocker Flame coming on a treat.

Anyone got snow. Let’s see your pics.

Congratulations Jennifer with Colin on their latest achievement. Go girls. Bring on the agility season.

Here we have little Soldier in for her second vaccine. Too cute!

User

Happy New Year everyone. I hope there’s not too many of you with sore heads out there.

User

With New Year approaching, ultimately there will be fireworks being set off in celebration.
Please keep your pets safe on New Years eve, walking dogs before it gets dark and general tips including closing the curtains and playing some background music to help mask the sound of the fireworks. Making a den for your dog to feel safe eg under the table can also help. The hardest part is to try and not make a fuss if your dog is fretting as this will only reinforce his behaviour. It is best to reward him with attention once they are starting to relax again.
We would like to wish all our clients a very Happy New Year and all the best for 2019.

User

We hope you all had a great Christmas. Please post some photos of your pets enjoying playing with new toys etc. Here is Brody enjoying his new bed and toys... 🐾🎄🎁

User

Wonderful people at Granton Road and Dundas Street. Have looked after all our pets so well (also my late parents dog - Tammy , and the Days dog Dazzle) thank-you for your care with Rosie our lovely cat - left us-12/8/14

User

We have been with the oxgangs branch since it opened and had 2 budgies, 2 rabbits and 6 dogs all these years they have been amazing!

User

Thank you so much for how professionally and sensitively you looked after us all recently when our wonderful Saba went on her final 'walk'. You were all so very kind and supportive.

User

Pete and Claire are wonderful.. they have been so good with my wee boy Juke, he unfortunately died this morning from a short illness and they really did all they could and couldn't have been more understanding.. I couldn't recommend them more

I can't thank all the staff at Dundas Veterinary Group, especially Peter Sharp enough for their hard work and dedication. Got my 17year old cat Salem back today after becoming unwell very quickly at the weekend. Turns out he had pancreatitis and just 5 days after he became poorly I have him home. He's still not 100% but that will take time and he still has a course of medication to finish. I can't thank them enough for not giving up on my old boy. Also very grateful for keeping me informed of his progress. I'm over the moon to say he's purring away and happy to be home as much as I am. Used Lochend Road branch for many many years. 5 stars to all staff at both Lochend and Dundas Street

User

Have used the Lochend surgery for 8years with my current dog. Phoned the surgery today and was given an appointment for 30mins later, great surgery!

User

Have been with Dundas Vet Group on Dundas street, Edinburgh for..13 years. THEY ARE THE BEST...

Mo Clarke was my main vet there and she is absolutely brilliant.

They also helped me with the requirements for transferring all my pets to Saudi Arabia, where we currently stay. Miss them all and Im always grateful to them.

Fabulous vets and lovely people. Our dog Heidi has been in and out for 3 stays during the last 10 days due to a severe gastro virus. Could not have asked for better care- many thanks to all the staff at Oxgangs and Dundas Street, it is much appreciated.

Every day since October 2015, I thank Peter Sharp, Claire, and the lovely folks at Dundas Veterinary Group for saving my cat Brownie. Every. Single. Day. This Christmas especially. My cat swallowed thread and was misdiagnosed by another local vet for five days. By the time I took her to Dundas Vet's her insides were shredded and she was dying. Peter Sharp and his team worked on her for three hours until 10 pm on a Friday. She was critical for a month, and when she had to remain in their care, I was allowed to sit with her even when the vet wasn't open. Mr. Sharp was honest with me about the situation, and I knew, no matter the outcome, he was doing his absolute best. He said that her condition was so severe it tested his skill as a vet, and he did a wonderful job. She had several parts of her bowel removed and a large section of her intestine. In addition, she needed a feeding tube post-surgery. I was so sure she would be left as a cat with special needs. One month later, my cat is perfectly fine. If that doesn't tell you what a wonderful and skilled vet Peter Sharp is than nothing will. She has no problems eating or moving her bowels, and she is back to her happy self. We'll be visiting soon to give our thanks and Christmas wishes in person. But rest assured, if you have any problems with your animals, you have arrived at the best place in Edinburgh. I honestly cannot say enough about these folks. They are super kind, fairly priced, and have a genuine love and concern for animals and their owners.

User

He is recovering well after his treatment and is enjoying lots of cuddles. Thank you for taking good care of my baby boy. I will be forever grateful.
