About Dundee Carers Centre

Dundee Carers Centre aims to improve the lives of carers through practical and emotional support, advocacy, training and information about services, rights and benefits. A carer is someone who provides unpaid care and support to a partner, child, family member or friend who could not manage without their help. This could be due to age, disability, physical or mental illness or addiction. Anyone can be a carer – we work with carers aged from 5 to 95. Many carers do not consider themselves to be a carer. They are just looking after their mother, son, partner or best friend, just getting on with it and doing what anyone else would in the same situation. More than one in eight people in Scotland provide care of this kind.
