About Duntrune Community Garden

Duntrune Community Gardens are managed by SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health) in partnership with Dundee City Council.

Duntrune Community Garden Description

The design of Duntrune Community Garden is based around a domestic home situation, with the central pergola structure as the house. Areas such as the front, back & kitchen gardens are all represented, giving the visitor ideas for design, plant combination and content that can be used in their own gardens. Additional features of interest include the gravel bed with water feature, heather garden and herbaceous borders.

SAMH manage and maintain Duntrune Community Gardens in partnership with Dundee City Council. The SAMH Chrysalis Project offers a "live" working and therapeutic environment for our clients. We recently discovered the original plans for the gardens and are now embarking on a restoration project to return the planting schemes to their original state.

SAMH staff are always on hand to offer advice and practical gardening tips. We can also do talks and presentations for groups, please contact 07800 820594 if you have a group that would be interested in learning about our work in Therapeutic Horticulture

The gardens are open to the public all the year round, Monday to Friday 9am to 3pm and entry is free.
