A video taken a few weeks ago showing Garry Tait at work with the chainsaw and Doug Shilton busy as always. As my phone camera is broken at the moment no videos or photos which may be a good or a bad thing...lol. We have been busy as usual and young Jock Dicerbo has been down doing some important jobs for the Reserve at the age of 85 which is impressive and good to see Jock back.

On Saturday 4th May in Moffat town hall at 10.30 am we will be having our annual fundraising coffee morning which you always support so well. At Dyke Farm Nature Reserve there is always plenty of maintenance work needing done and we do most of it ourselves. We are always needing hand tools such as rakes and hand loppers. Chainsaws and strimmers are always needing replacing too. If you could help us in any small way that would be really appreciated. Some baking or donations towards the various stalls or buying raffle tickets all helps. You can buy these from AM Grieve Newsagents or committee members such as Garry Tait Jon Haydon Andy Dickson Sue Powell or John Smith.

The last meeting of the season will be this Friday night in the Buccleuch Arms hotel and club member Tom Thomson will be showing photos taken off the different birds that he has recorded in his garden. I will also run through our new laptop presentation on Dyke Farm Nature Reserve which is more up to date than our slideshow. It is a work in progress and will be updated on a regular basis. So come along on Friday night to see what we have been doing recently. Non members welcome to attend. Meeting starts at 7.30pm.

Red Kites which are being seen regularly in the Moffat and Beattock area will be the subject of our next talk next Friday at the Buccleuch Arms hotel when Duncan Orr-Ewing will be giving us an update on how well they are doing in Scotland. As always visitors are most welcome. Meetings start at 7.30 pm.
