Dynamic Meladies

Dynamic Meladies has been running Singing sessions and Workshops since 2016, giving women aged 25 plus the opportunity to develop their voices and have fun singing with others. We want to encourage women to sing and develop confidence in their voices.

Sheena and Karen created Dynamic Meladies from our love of music and our joy of performing and sharing songs with others.

We want to expand possibilities for older women* in singing. There are projects and other opportunities available for younger women but it can be more difficult for older women to find creative outlets. Confidence can be a real issue for us, making it hard to take that first step and go along and sing in the company of others.

Ensemble singing is great fun and the range of choirs available provides a real chance to get involved with some terrific singing. There is, however, less opportunity to focus on your own voice and develop it. Learning to sing on your own, or along with two or three others, gives you the chance to really engage with a song and discover how to put your own feelings into it. This can bring a great sense of freedom and help you to connect more with yourself and other people.

At Dynamic Meladies we want to encourage women to develop confidence in themselves and their voices by providing a space for women to enjoy singing and learning together.

We offer a series of interactive workshops providing an opportunity for you to develop your voice and brush up on your performance skills. You will have the chance to work on your own voice; sing in small groups; learn new songs and try out arrangements whilst having fun and meeting new people.
