Update on closure of Main Street, Twechar:
There has been a substantial reduction in flooding affecting Main Street - between Drumgrew Bridge (Twechar Roundabout) and MacDonald Crescent - over the last 24 hrs, although one half of the road is still flooded. It is hoped that flooding will further reduce over the weekend, allowing the road to be reopened on Sunday. Should any flood water remain, temporary lights will be used to control the movement of vehicles.

There will be a minor change to bin collections over the coming weeks as we roll out our new fleet and increase operational efficiencies. Currently, blue and brown recycling bins are collected by the same vehicle. In future, the blue and brown bins will continue to be collected on the same day, but will be picked up separately by different crews. We would advise residents to leave bins on the pavement until both have been collected.
